Comm. Minutes--May 1, 1990 460 <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Hfs. Toussatnt seconded to approve the <br />Auditor's request for poll clerks to attend election <br />training sessions at an additional cost of about $2,500 per <br />election. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir asked if the motion includes both elections, but it <br />does not specify both. The Auditor asked the Commission to increase <br />the maximum amount paid to election workers from $60 to $80 each for <br />the primary and general elections in 1990. MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to pay <br /> election workers up to $80 for each election in 1990, which <br /> includes both the primary and general elections; and to <br /> authorize the poll clerks to be paid for attending the <br /> training session for the general election, as well as the <br /> primary, at an estimated cost of $2,500. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE SECURITY, To be reviewed with dePartment heads <br />Maintenance Department received informal bids requested by the County <br />Judges for 'locks and a glassed area to secure doors and counters to <br />clerical offices from the hallway because they had a potentially <br />dangerous situation recently. Hr. Eckert agreed with Mr. Wieland <br />that security in other departments should also be reviewed, and <br />Mr. Shannon asked Mr. Eckert to attend the next meeting with <br />department heads to see what their concerns are and report back to <br />the Commission at the next meeting. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, COHMITTEE REPORTS, NEW BUSINESS MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. wieland seconded to receive <br /> and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as <br /> follows: Department of Agriculture saying there is a good <br /> possibility of federal funds being made available for <br /> grasshopper control and asking for the name of the County <br /> pest control coordinator; information from the Department <br /> of Agriculture sent to all county commissions in the state <br /> regarding a grasshopper control program; letter from Wayne <br /> Colberg saying he offered to share information on Cass <br /> County's grasshopper control program with other counties; <br /> copy of a letter from Attorney Gregory Selbo to Irv Rustad, <br /> Lake Agassiz Regional Council, serving notice of intent of <br /> Heinecke-Johnson Company to foreclose it's Hechanic's Lien <br /> unless the construction contract is paid; letters from the <br /> Office of Intergovernmental Assistance concerning reviews <br /> of the CDBG funds for Town & Country Roll-off Service, ~r'i- <br /> Line Transportation, Inc. and Embden sewer project; <br /> information on the procedure for using CDBG funds for <br /> inventory; Executive Order from Governor Sinner dec'laring <br /> a drought disaster for the State of North Dakota; request <br /> from the North Cass Water Resource District for cost- <br /> sharing on RC&D critical area treatment site #31C (copy <br /> referred to County Engineer); letter from Nancy Peterson <br /> expressing her displeasure about the Historical Sociely's <br /> election held last week; request for contribution to <br /> <br /> <br />
