Wieland seconded to approve <br /> out of state travel for Sheriff's Deputy Tony Krogh to Des <br /> Moines, Iowa, on March 19-21 and for Deputy Rod Kitzan to <br /> Huntsville, Alabama, on March 18-21. The costs for both <br /> are within the Sheriff's education/seminars budget. On <br /> roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LAKE AGASSIZ COUNCIL, Resolution of support of annual contribution <br />Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Council, proposed that Cass County <br />commit the contribution of $15,500 from the 1990 County budget to <br />secure funds to complete Phase I of the Regional Small Business <br />Center in Fargo rather than committing funds over a three year period <br />as originally requested by Mr. Rustad. He said he will ask the <br />Commission to commit funds during the next budget session to be used <br />as debt retirement until the loan is paid. <br /> <br />Mike Montplaisir said he would not have a problem with this as long <br />as the County is not committing funds for future years at this point. <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded to guarantee <br /> that Cass County will pay the amount allocated in the 1990 <br /> budget to the Lake Agassiz Regional Council for the current <br /> year, and Cass County will address any subsequent requests <br /> as a new question; and that this be subject to the States <br /> Attorney re-drafting the necessary resolution. On roll <br /> call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RECYCLING PROJECT, Elimination_of one dumpster <br />county Planner Earl Haugen addressed a letter to the Commission <br />seeking approval to eliminate a three-yard dumpster, which is no <br />longer needed because of the office paper recycling project. Since <br />this was a move to save money, Chairman Shannon authorized removing <br />the dumpster and this was agreeable with the other Commissioners. <br /> <br />EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION, Suggestion by County Planner <br />Earl Haugen suggested that some of the savings from the recycling <br />project be used for an employee appreciation day. The Commissioners <br />were in agreement to have Mr. Haugen explore the idea of an employee <br />appreciation day, but not attach it to the dollars saved from the <br />recycling program. Mr. Shannon invited him to offer some suggestions <br />to the Commission at his opportunity and convenience. <br /> <br />ROCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Sale of auarter section to hiRh biddeF <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Upon the recommendation of the committee which reviewed the <br /> bids received today for the quarter section of land in <br /> Rochester Township, Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint <br /> seconded to accept the offer of Walter Satrom for $40,100, <br /> and refer it to the States Attorney for processing; the <br /> money to be deposited in the County's general fund.
