MOriON, passed
Hr. Wie]and moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded to receive
and file information submitted to the Commission by the
advertised deadline of 5:00 p.m. Hatch 2, 1990, so that it
is a matter of record and Hr. Richards can proceed further.
Hr. Shannon said this does not approve pro3ect advancement
but wi]] allow Commissioner Eckert an opportunity to review
it. On roll ca]] vote, the motion carried unanimously.

ilISTORICAL SOCIETY, "Blue Ribbon panel" pFoposed
Hr, Shannon said he understands the Cass County Historical Society
has initiated an effort of their own, according to a letter from
President Darrol Schroeder, indicating that they plan to establish a
"Blue Ribbon Panel" to evaluate the situation at Bonanzaville rather
than using the nine-member task force proposed by Cass County.

Mr. Shannon suggested a response to Mr. Schroeder and interested
parties encouraging them to proceed with their efforts to address the
key points outlined by the Commission during the last budget session.
He said the Historical Society will be informed that the Commission
is interested in knowing whether concerns of the past presidents'
group about membership on the panel are met.

Mr. Wieland asked for a comment from the people present whether they
feel there is communication between the parties involved. Mrs. Lila
Hutchinson said there has been some progress but there are still
issues that have not been addressed, including by-laws.

Mr. Arnie Pauls said he is still in favor of the nine-member board
that the Commission proposed, and Mrs. Hutchinson was in agreement.
Mr. Pauls said his group had no input on the names for the "Blue
Ribbon Panel." He said they approve what Mr. Schroeder has done so
far and feel it is a step forward, but it is not all inclusive.

Mr. Shannon asked Mr. Pauls if he felt it would be suitable for the
Commission to accept Mr. Schroeder's letter as a step forward and
encourage him to proceed, and Mr. Pauls was in agreement. MOTION, passed
Mrs. Toussaint moved and Hr, Sondrall seconded to receive
and file correspondence from Darrol Schroeder, President of
the Cass County Historical Society, and that the Chairman
draft a letter for the Commissioners' review along the
lines of the comments outlined above.
Discussion: Palmer Forness said he applauds the Commission
for what they have done and for showing their concern.
Mrs. Jeannette Stanton said she is not sure the entire
Historical Society Board agrees with Mr. Schroeder on the
"Blue Ribbon Panel." Mr. Shannon thought they were waiting
to see how the Commission would respond. At the call for
the question and on roll call vote, the motion carried
unanimously.
