Notice of public hearing <br />that was published in The Forum was read by the secretary. <br /> <br />Three people who live in the area of the proposed project said they <br />would like to address the Commission, Albert Dietz, Woodrow Kundert <br />and Morris Nelson expressed concerns about the project. <br /> <br />County Engineer Don Richards gave some specifics on the project <br />design. Dr. Lawrence Woodbury reviewed the hydraulics of this <br />location, as he was requested to do by the County Road Department. <br /> <br />Chairman Shannon said it is the Commission's intention at this public <br />hearing to find out what questions the residents have, and then ask <br />the County Engineer to respond to their concerns at the proper time. <br /> <br />The Chairman closed the public hearing after reminding the people <br />that they have until March 2, 1990, to submit written testimony to be <br />included in the hearing transcript. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Automatic warning devices on County Road 4 <br />Regarding the request for automatic warning devices on County Road 4 <br />northwest of Casselton, Don Richards said the State Department of <br />Transportation is reviewing all railroad crossings between Fargo and <br />Nolan for possible inclusion in their future signal programs. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ~1990-1, Funds for paving access road to Erie Dam <br /> NOTZON, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to adopt <br /> Resolution #1990-1 requesting federal funds for paving the <br /> access road to the Erie Dam and recreation complex. <br /> Discussion: Mrs. Toussaint asked if a commitment will be <br /> made on ownership of the road before further planning is <br /> done, Mr. Richards said it will be addressed if funds are <br /> available for paving it. On roll call vote, the motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Out of state travel to Colorado Springs <br /> HOT,ON, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to allow Don <br /> Richards to attend the National Association of County <br /> Engineer's annual meeting in Colorado Springs March 25-30, <br /> 1990. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BIDS, Annual Road Department supplies <br />Mr. Richards said he will 'schedule a bid advertisement in April for <br />the Road Department's annual supplies. <br /> <br />BRIDGE REPLACEMENT NEAR DAVENPORT, Bid awarded to Wanzek <br /> NOTZON, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign a resolution and letter to <br /> the State Highway Department approving the low bid of <br /> Wanzek Construction in the amount of $371,796.24 for bridge <br /> replacement across the Sheyenne River east of Davenport. <br /> On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
