Eckert said the States Attorney suggested that the State Highway Department draft an agreement with Cass County regarding 52nd Avenue South from Interstate 29 to University Drive. After that agreement is received, the States Attorney will draft agreements with the various entities who have verbally consented to help pay for the project. Hr. Richards said the State Highway Department has agreed to contribute $170,000, and the local share would be $115,000. The local share would be pro-rated downward if the cost is ]ess than estimated, but it would not increase if the cost is higher than estimated. He said the State Highway Department would not send a bi]] for the local share until 1991. MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondra]] seconded that engineering and design for reconstruction of a portion of 52nd Avenue South from Interstate 29 to University Drive be done by the State Highway Department and be their full responsibility upon completion of the project, scheduled for 1990; and that the local share be divided as follows: $64,900 from Cass County, $35,600 from the City of Fargo, $10,000 from the City of Frontier and $4,500 from Stanley Township. CDBG FUNDS, RIVERDALE CENTENNIAL, CHILD SUPPORT, Correspondence The secretary wi]] file three letters regarding inspection of Community Deve'lopment B'lock Grant projects for Town and Country Roll- Off Service, Tri-Line Transportation, and Solid Comfort; a letter from McLean County requesting a stone for the Riverdale Centennial Project; and a letter from Bonnie Johnson, Regional Child Support Enforcement Director, reporting that annual co]'lections were 30% over the previous year, for a record year at the Fargo office. Mr. Shannon reminded Commissioners to periodically review correspondence in the secretary's office. CASS AND CLAY COMMISSIONERS, Joint meeting scheduled A joint meeting between Cass and Clay County Commissioners will be held at noon on Monday, March 5th, at the Doublewood Inn, Fargo. GRASSHOPPER CONTROL, TO be discussed March 20 Mr. Shannon asked Mr. Eckert to draft a position statement regarding grasshopper control for the March 20th meeting. Mr. Eckert agreed the Commission should adopt a policy on grasshopper control, and he said it will be discussed at the next Weed Control Board meeting. BUILDING AND GROUNDS DEPARTMENT, purchase of drill press MOTION, passed Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to authorize the purchase of a drill press for the Courthouse Maintenance Department at a cost of $349. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. ADJOURN MOTION, passed On motion by Mrs. Toussaint and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
