Eckert said the States Attorney suggested that the State Highway <br />Department draft an agreement with Cass County regarding 52nd Avenue <br />South from Interstate 29 to University Drive. After that agreement <br />is received, the States Attorney will draft agreements with the <br />various entities who have verbally consented to help pay for the <br />project. <br /> <br />Hr. Richards said the State Highway Department has agreed to <br />contribute $170,000, and the local share would be $115,000. The <br />local share would be pro-rated downward if the cost is ]ess than <br />estimated, but it would not increase if the cost is higher than <br />estimated. He said the State Highway Department would not send a <br />bi]] for the local share until 1991. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondra]] seconded that engineering <br /> and design for reconstruction of a portion of 52nd Avenue <br /> South from Interstate 29 to University Drive be done by the <br /> State Highway Department and be their full responsibility <br /> upon completion of the project, scheduled for 1990; and <br /> that the local share be divided as follows: $64,900 from <br /> Cass County, $35,600 from the City of Fargo, $10,000 from <br /> the City of Frontier and $4,500 from Stanley Township. On <br /> roll ca]] vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CDBG FUNDS, RIVERDALE CENTENNIAL, CHILD SUPPORT, Correspondence <br />The secretary wi]] file three letters regarding inspection of <br />Community Deve'lopment B'lock Grant projects for Town and Country Roll- <br />Off Service, Tri-Line Transportation, and Solid Comfort; a letter <br />from McLean County requesting a stone for the Riverdale Centennial <br />Project; and a letter from Bonnie Johnson, Regional Child Support <br />Enforcement Director, reporting that annual co]'lections were 30% over <br />the previous year, for a record year at the Fargo office. Mr. Shannon <br />reminded Commissioners to periodically review correspondence in the <br />secretary's office. <br /> <br />CASS AND CLAY COMMISSIONERS, Joint meeting scheduled <br />A joint meeting between Cass and Clay County Commissioners will be <br />held at noon on Monday, March 5th, at the Doublewood Inn, Fargo. <br /> <br />GRASSHOPPER CONTROL, TO be discussed March 20 <br />Mr. Shannon asked Mr. Eckert to draft a position statement regarding <br />grasshopper control for the March 20th meeting. Mr. Eckert agreed <br />the Commission should adopt a policy on grasshopper control, and he <br />said it will be discussed at the next Weed Control Board meeting. <br /> <br />BUILDING AND GROUNDS DEPARTMENT, purchase of drill press <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to authorize <br /> the purchase of a drill press for the Courthouse <br /> Maintenance Department at a cost of $349.
