Minutes--February 6, 1990 425 MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Cynthia Evernham be recognized as the restitution supervisor in pay grade 12 with an annual salary adjustment of $3,493 per year, retroactive to December 1, 1989 when she assumed the duties of supervisor; and to authorize a one-half time position to replace the former full-time position of restitution officer in pay grade 11; and to approve the hiring of Janet S. McCormick as a permanent part-time employee to work an average of 20 hours per week as restitution officer at an hourly wage of $6.25. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. WEED CONTROL, Out of state travel approved MOTION, passed Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize out of state travel for Wayne Colberg, County Weed control Officer, to attend a pesticide-control workshop at Pierre, SD on February 20 and 21, 1990. Motion carried unanimously. GRASSHOPPER CONTROL, .Discussion Mr. Shannon suggested that Commissioners Eckert and Sondrall discuss grasshopper control for the coming season with the County Extension Agent and other resources that are available, and report back to the Commission. He said the County should decide in advance what they are prepared to do financially with the potential grasshopper infestation. SOCIAL SERVICE BOARD, Terms of office specified Mrs. Toussaint said the State Human Services Department requires that terms of the recently appointed Social Services Board members be specified. She recommended the terms of Commissioners Wieland and Shannon and one vacant position expire July 31, 1990; terms of Commissioners Eckert and Toussaint and one vacant position expire July 31, 1991; and the term of Oscar Sondrall expire July 31, 1992. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to accept the terms of Social Service Board members as specified above. Motion carried. LEGISLATION & RESOLUTIONS, Commission requests input Mr. Shannon suggested that Commissioner Wieland send a memo to department heads and elected officials asking for proposed legislation and resolutions for the North Dakota Association of Counties and State County Commissioners convention. HISTORICAL SOCIETY/STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, Correspondence filed MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive and file correspondence from Cliff Melroe, Chairman of the Building Committee at Bonanzaville, from the Committee for Progress at Bonanzaville, from A.I. Lorentzsen; and a letter from the State Highway Department regarding a bid opening in Bismarck for the Sheyenne River bridge east of Davenport. Motion carried.
