Comm. Minutes--Dec. 5, 1989 392 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to continue <br />paying Scott Kildahl through January 31, 1990, at the same <br />hourly rate he was receiving as Acting Director of County <br />Social Services. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />19. SHERIFF DEPARTHENT, Revenue from soft drink beverage machines <br />In a letter to the Commission, Deputy Sheriff Budd Warren requested <br />the Commissioners to consider donating revenue generated from the <br />soft drink beverage machines in the Courthouse during the months of <br />December, 1989, and January through June next year, for the 1990 Law <br />Enforcement Torch Run For Special Olympics. MOTION, failed <br /> Mr. Sondrall made a motion that the money be used for the <br /> purpose requested. However, the motion died for lack of a <br /> second. Mr. Shannon said the Commission should find out <br /> where this money has been going before the Commission <br /> allocates it. Chairman Eckert asked Mr. Sondra11 to <br /> investigate this. <br /> <br />20. COMPENSATORY TIME/OVERTIME, Update from States Attorney <br />The States Attorney is continuing to review and resolve questions on <br />whether FLSA exempt employees should receive compensatory time. In <br />a letter to the Commission dated December 1, 1989, he recommended <br />that the Social Services Board and the County Commission withhold <br />final payment under the Labor Department's audit of Social Services <br />until this has been resolved. <br /> <br />21. SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LOTS, County Deeds siRned MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman and the County Auditor be authorized to sign five <br /> County Deeds for property sold at the annual tax sale, and <br /> to cancel 1989 general taxes on these properties in the <br /> amount of $814.91. Motion carried. <br /> <br />22. RESIGNATION, Extension ARent MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive ~and <br /> file the letter of resignation from County Extension Agent, <br /> Duane Hauck, who will become District Director for the <br /> Central District of the State Extension Service on January <br /> 1, 1990. Motion carried. <br /> <br />23. BENEFITS PROGRAH, Agreement with AFLAC to administer Section 125 <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Hrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to authorize <br /> the Chairman to sign the agreement with American Family <br /> Life Assurance Company to administer a Section 125 flexible <br /> benefits program in Cass County. Motion carried. <br /> <br />24. FARGO CITY COMMISSION, Resolution on North Broadway Bridge <br />Mike Montplaisir presented a copy of a resolution from Mark Thelen, <br />Director of Finance for the City of Fargo, for annexing the North <br />Broadway Bridge to the center of the river between the City of Fargo <br />and Cass County.
