Comm. Minutes--Nov. 7, 1989 377 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded that Vouchers <br />No. 7,191 through 8,060 be approved and ordered paid. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />20. ELECTION SITE SUPPORT, Approved for special election <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of the County Auditor, Mr. Sondra11 moved <br /> and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to grant approval to have a <br /> representative from American Information Systems present <br /> for the December 5 special election at a cost of <br /> approximately $1,500 in case of any machine deficiencies. <br /> On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />21. ELECTION, Compensation for workers MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of the Auditor, Mrs. Toussaint moved and <br /> Mr. Sondrall seconded to pay poll clerks who attend the <br /> Auditor's election school on November 27 or November 28 the <br /> same rate as those who are required by law to attend. They <br /> will receive 25 per cent more for hours worked on election <br /> day, or $4.25 per hour if they attend the election school; <br /> and to increase the maximum per worker from $60 to $80 per <br /> day. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Auditor estimated the December 5 special election will <br /> cost $40,000. <br /> <br />22. DISASTER EMERGENCY SERVICES, Winter Awareness Day MOTION, passed <br /> Upon request of Glenn Ellingsberg, Emergency Hanager, Hr. <br /> Shannon moved and Hr. Wieland seconded that the Commission <br /> adopt the Winter Awareness Day Proclamation. Hotion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />23. ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE, 52nd Avenue South <br />A meeting will be held with various entities on November 9 at the <br />State Highway Department District Office regarding 52nd Avenue South. <br />Commissioners Wieland and Eckert plan to attend. <br /> <br />24. COURTHOUSE OFFICE SPACE, States Attorney & Child Support <br />The States Attorney submitted a letter informing the Board that he <br />will need additional office space for the victim/witness advocates <br />because the office they now occupy will be used for an additional <br />assistant states attorney January 1, 1990. Mr. Hoy said there are <br />other departments adding staff January 1 also, and someone needs to <br />address this. <br /> <br />The Commission also received a letter from Bonnie Johnson, Child <br />Support Enforcement Director, along with a proposal for remodeling <br />the third floor conference room into offices for her department at an <br />estimated cost of $15,000-$16,000. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint said the Commission needs to proceed with making use <br />of the space to be vacated by the State Tax Department. Hr. Wieland <br />said the victim/witness advocates could use the Commission Office on <br />a temporary basis after January 1, if necessary. Mr. Shannon <br />reminded the Commission of the Sheriff's Residence and its possible <br />use for office space. <br /> <br /> <br />
