Comm. Hinutes--Nov. 7, 1989 375 <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint asked what would happen to the project if a staffing <br />analysis does not show the need for additional staff in the Sheriff's <br />Office, and the Sheriff said the County will not receive <br />reimbursement if they do not fulfill the terms of the contract. He <br />said the grant money could be used for overtime for existing staff to <br />carry out the program. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Sheriff's Department apply for the traffic safety grant <br /> with the understanding that no new personnel will be hired <br /> at this time. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously, <br /> <br />10. COMMISSION PROJECTS, Procedure to be followed <br />Mr, Wieland asked for input on how to proceed with the staffing <br />analysis. Chairman Eckert asked Commissioners Wieland and Shannon to <br />prepare a list of ideas for the next meeting on how the Commission <br />should proceed with the list of problem areas that were identified at <br />budget time. <br /> <br />11. SHERIFF, peservists <br />Sheriff Rudnick requested authorization to pay three or four members <br />of the reserve unit about $6.50 per hour on a part-time basis for <br />transporting prisoners and patients to the State Hospital. He said <br />this should decrease the extra duty or overtime line item in his <br />budget because it would mean fewer hours for the full-time staff who <br />now transport them. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Hrs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Wieland seconded to approve <br /> the hiring of two part-time reservists to assist in the <br /> transportation of prisoners to and from area facilities. <br /> Mr. Sondrall asked if they would be covered by the County's <br /> insurance, and the Sheriff said they would be. On roll <br /> call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. PLANNING, Technical a~sistance contract with Stanley Townshi9 <br />Earl Haugen, County Planner, requested the Commission's approval of <br />a technical assistance contract between the Planning Department and <br />Stanley Township at a negotiated fee of $50.00 as approved by the <br />County Planning Commission. Hr. Haugen would assist Stanley Township <br />in reviewing their zoning ordinance and its relationship to the <br />comprehensive plan. He said other townships' zoning administrators <br />have agreed to meet on November 15, and he hopes to determine how <br />many townships are interested in updating current ordinances and what <br />kind of funding they have to compensate the Planning Department for <br />technical assistance. MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wie]and moved and Mr, Sondra]] seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign the technical assistance <br /> contract with Stanley Township as presented by the County <br /> Planner. On roll ca]] vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />13. PLANNING COMMISSION, Agenda topics <br />Hr. Wis]and suggested adopting a policy whereby decisions made by the <br />Planning Commission be brought to the County Commission in the form <br /> <br /> <br />
