Comm. Hinutes--Oct. 17, 1989 366 <br /> <br />12. EMPLOYEES, Petition for holiday after Thanksgivin~ MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Wie]and seconded to receive and <br /> file petitions from several County employees requesting the <br /> Commission to consider granting a holiday the Friday after <br /> Thanksgiving. Mr. Sondra]] suggested that the Commission <br /> set a date when action wi]] be taken on this request. Hr. <br /> Shannon said the County has a po]icy manual specifying the <br /> holidays, and he suggested that Mr. Sondral] make a <br /> recommendation at the next meeting if he feels action is <br /> needed. Mr. Wie]and said closing County offices the Friday <br /> after Thanksgiving would make a four-day time frame where <br /> people cannot conduct County business. Motion carried. <br /> <br />13. WEED CONTROL & VECTOR CONTROL, Suggestion for ,iQint meeting <br />Mrs. Toussaint suggested that the members of the Weed Control Board <br />and the Vector Control Board hold a joint meeting to discuss <br />consolidation, and report back to the County Commission. <br /> <br />14. HEARING ON APPRAISAL OF TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTY <br />A public hearing was held at 10:00 a.m. on the appraisal of tax- <br />forfeited property. The Chairman asked for any comments and hearing <br />none, closed the public hearing. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Hrs~ Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> the November tax sale list as appraised by the County Board <br /> on October 3, 1989, for the annual tax sale to be held in <br /> the Auditor's Office on November 21. On roll call vote, <br /> the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />15. FARGO, North Broadway bridRe agreement signed <br />Accountant Mike Montplaisir presented a Memorandum of Agreement <br />between Cass County and the City of Fargo c9ncerning construction of <br />the North Broadway bridge. Robert Hoy, States Attorney, said the <br />amount has been altered to correct it from a previous Memorandum of <br />Agreement sent by the City of Fargo in October, 1988. One other <br />comment, Mr. Hoy said, is that he is unaware that the City of Fargo <br />has actually annexed all of the bridges and roads in the city limits <br />to the center of the river as stipulated by the County Commission. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign the Memorandum of Agreement <br /> concerning the North Broadway bridge and forward it to the <br /> City of Fargo for their consideration, and request that <br /> they complete the annexation before any funds are paid by <br /> the County. Motion carried. <br /> <br />16. PARK BOARD, Ice hockey equipment proceeds <br />Mr. Eckert reported that the second and final payment of $3,000 was <br />deposited in the County Park fund as their share of the sale of ice <br />hockey equipment from the Schollander Pavilion at West Fargo. <br /> <br /> <br />
