Mr. Wieland asked Mr. Richards t,o provide this int'oFmabion to <br />Stanley Township in writing because they are not. satisfied with the <br />oral responses Mr. Richards has been giving them, and Hr. Wieland <br />asked for a copy of Mr. Richards' letter. <br /> <br />9. ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT, 52nd Avenue <br />State Highway Commissioner Richard Backes expects Cass County to <br />abide by their agreement of' 1980 with the State ttigh~.~'.>, Department <br />and continue to maintain 52nd Avenue South from University Drive to <br />Interstate 29. In a 'letter to States A'ttorney Rober-'t Ho?, Hr-. B:~ckes <br />suggested that Cass County and tt;e cities of Fango and Frontier <br />should meet to determine the appropriate improvement and 'the <br />obligation of each jurisdiction. <br /> <br />F-M Asphalt Co. laid 63 ton of asphalt on three miles of this road aL <br />Mr, Richards request because he felt it needed to be repaired this <br />fall before someone was hurt, He recommended a further response 'Lo <br />the State's letter and find out.who is going to have the jur'isdiction <br />of that road. <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Shannon moved and Hr. Wieland seconded to ask the <br /> States Attorney in cooperation with the Engineer to draft <br /> a follow-up letter to the State Highway Department that <br /> Cass County feels they have abided by the agreement and do <br /> not wish to continue performing above and beyond that <br /> agreement; but that Cass County is very much interested in <br /> meeting with the groups suggested in Mr. Backes' letter, <br /> along with Barnes and Stanley Townships and the State <br /> Highway Department, to seek a solution. Motion carried. <br /> <br />12. U.S. WEST COMMUNICATIONS, Utility permit NOTION, passed <br /> Hrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to approve a <br /> utility permit for U.S. West Communications to place buried <br /> cable across County Road 28 south of the fairgrounds. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
