Comm. Hinutes--September 28, 1989 354 <br /> <br />NOTION, passed <br />Hr. Shannon moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to fund the Lake <br />Agassiz Regional Council at $15,500 for 1990. Mr. Eckert <br />stated that he would support $20,000. The motion carried <br />on roll call vote with four members voting "yes" and Hr. <br />Eckert opposing. <br /> <br />15. SOCIAL SERVICES, Wage and hour audit MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to create a <br /> line item titled United States Department of Labor Wage and <br /> Hour Division's audit of Social Services compensatory time <br /> practices in the amount of $50,000. Motion carried. <br /> <br />16. SOCIAL SERVICES, Budget approved MOTION, passed (staff) <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to eliminate <br /> the position of Clerk II in the accounting department of <br /> Social Services in the amount of $11,737 for the year 1990. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed (capital outlay projects) <br />Hrs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Shannon seconded to reduce the <br />capital outlay projects line item in the Social Services <br />budget from $27,850 to $20,000 with the stipulation that <br />the necessary computer equipment be purchased, omitting the <br />accounting personal computer, and the rest of the funds to <br />be placed in priorities by Social Services. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed (staff) <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and, Mr. Wieland seconded to eliminate <br />a homemaker position in the amount of $8,799 plus benefits, <br />as recommended by Mr. Kildahl, Acting Social Services <br />Director. Motion carried. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed (annual leave pay-offs) <br />Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to eliminate <br />the annual leave pay-offs in the amount of $12,000 from the <br />Social Services Budget. Motion carried. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed (camperships) <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to eliminate <br />the camperships line item in the amount of $3,600. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, failed (donations) <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded that the sum <br />of $75,000 be donated to United Way of Cass Clay to be used <br />to support basic human needs, designated for Cass County <br />only, with respect to augmenting County Social Services <br />programs and that this dollar sum be calculated as a <br />percent of the total 1990 budget so that this percentage, <br />or a lesser number, may be used as a bench mark if further <br />donations to non-core county business are continued in <br />following years.
