Wie]and seconded that Don <br /> Richards be authorized out of state travel to Baudette, <br /> Minn., on September 21 and 22 as a guest of the Minnesota <br /> Department of Natural Resources; to Rapid City, S.D., on <br /> October 10 in conjunction with his Vice Presidency of the <br /> North Central Region of the National Association of County <br /> Engineers; and to Rapid City, S.D., on November 7 and 8 for <br /> a Federal Highway Administration workshop. Hr. Sondra]] <br /> stated that all County employees are required to obtain <br /> prior approval for out of state travel. Motion carried. <br /> <br />16. ROAD PROJECTS, Federal Aid <br />Mr. Richards reported that 1990 construction proSects involving <br />federal aid have been reaffirmed for bridge replacement over the Red <br />River three miles east of Harwood, a bridge over the Sheyenne River <br />on County Road 16 east of Davenport, and a bridge over the Maple <br />River southeast of Alice on County Road 16. They are being scheduled <br />for letting in February, May and July, 1990. <br /> <br />17. ROAD MAINTENANCE SHOPS, Three to be sold <br />Four maintenance shops located in Page, Erie, Tower City and <br />Casselton are no longer being used to store road equipment, and Mr. <br />Eckert felt they should be sold. However, the County does have <br />emergency radio equipment in the shop at Casselton, and there is an <br />agreement allowing the City of Casselton to use the building. States <br />Attorney Robert Hoy stated that if the apparent value is over $1,O00, <br />the County would have to legally advertise for bids to sell them. <br />Mr. Eckert did not believe the value is over $1,000 on any of them. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondra'll expressed concern about disposing of the properties, but <br />Mr. Richards stated that the buildings are in need of repair, and the <br />County is paying for liability insurance, fire insurance, and <br />maintaining heat and electricity. MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wie]and moved and Mr. Sondra]] seconded to advertise <br /> for informal bids for the sale of former maintenance shops <br /> in Page, Erie and Tower City; and exclude the shop at <br /> Casselton at this time. Mr. Wie]and asked the States <br /> Attorney to be sure the County retains the right to reject <br /> any or all bids for whatever reasons. On roll ca]] vote, <br /> the motion carried unanimous]y. <br /> <br />18. ROAD PROJECTS, C17 at Horace <br />Mr. Sondral'l stated that he has been receiving complaints that the <br />County Road 17 paving project at Horace has not been completed. Mr. <br />Richards stated that the project has been completed, except to finish <br />paint striping and raking on some of the approaches. <br /> <br />19. JUVENILE CENTER PARKING LOT, Improvements discussed <br />Mr. Shannon questioned the Engineer about filling the potholes in the <br />parking lot of the Juvenile Justice Center Mr. Richards stated <br />that he will try to have a paving crew fi]] the deep holes by next <br />week, and he plans to hire a contractor with a small machine to do <br />the paint striping. Mr. Shannon asked how soon it will be completed, <br />and Hr. Richards will try to have it done by the end of September~'~ <br /> <br /> <br />
