NOTION, passed Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to refer the letter to the County Accountant and States Attorney for review of State statutes on whether this can be done, and that a report be forthcoming by October 3, 1989. Motion carried. 10. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Out of state travel MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to grant permission for out of state travel for Joyce Holm, Superintendent of Schools, to attend the National Rural Education Association convention in Reno, Nev., on October 8 through 11, 1989. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 11. NATIONAL ASSN. OF COUNTIES, Wieland apptd, to committee Commissioner A'lon, Wieland received notification and has accepted an appointment as a member of the National Association of Counties' Agriculture and Rural Affairs Steering Committee. He felt the appointment is important for input into policies and recommendations to the national legislators. 12. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, Nominations for State Association MOTION, passed Mrs, Toussaint moved and Mr, Sondrall seconded to submit the name of Alon Wieland~as a nominee for Vice President of the state County Commissioners Association, Motion carried. 13. EAST CENTRAL COMMISSIONERS ASSN., Nominatin~ Committee Mr. Sondrall stated that he was appointed to the nominating committee for the East Central Commissioners Association, which will have an election of officers at their next meeting in December. Mr. Shannon asked the secretary of the group what this invo'lves, and he was informed that Cass County will be contacted with specific details. 14. ROAD AND STREET REPAIR FUNDS, City of Alice County Engineer Don Richards recommended payment of Road and Street Repair funds to the City of Alice in the amount of $107. He stated that there is an annual cut-off date of September 1st for applying for these funds, and the request from Alice is dated September 1st but arrived late. MOTION, passed Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve payment of Road and Street Repair funds to the City of Alice in the amount of $107. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
