Minutes--September 19, 1989 339 <br /> <br />Sheriff Rudnick also requested in his letter that the Commission <br />approve acquisition of several credit cards to be used by his office <br />for travel expenses during weekends and holidays when it is <br />impossible to receive an advance prior to the necessary travel. <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to refer the <br /> letter to the County Accountant and States Attorney for <br /> review of State statutes on whether this can be done, and <br /> that a report be forthcoming by October 3, 1989. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />10. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Out of state travel MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to grant <br /> permission for out of state travel for Joyce Holm, <br /> Superintendent of Schools, to attend the National Rural <br /> Education Association convention in Reno, Nev., on October <br /> 8 through 11, 1989. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />11. NATIONAL ASSN. OF COUNTIES, Wieland apptd, to committee <br />Commissioner A'lon, Wieland received notification and has accepted an <br />appointment as a member of the National Association of Counties' <br />Agriculture and Rural Affairs Steering Committee. He felt the <br />appointment is important for input into policies and recommendations <br />to the national legislators. <br /> <br />12. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, Nominations for State Association <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs, Toussaint moved and Mr, Sondrall seconded to submit <br /> the name of Alon Wieland~as a nominee for Vice President of <br /> the state County Commissioners Association, Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />13. EAST CENTRAL COMMISSIONERS ASSN., Nominatin~ Committee <br />Mr. Sondrall stated that he was appointed to the nominating committee <br />for the East Central Commissioners Association, which will have an <br />election of officers at their next meeting in December. Mr. Shannon <br />asked the secretary of the group what this invo'lves, and he was <br />informed that Cass County will be contacted with specific details. <br /> <br />14. ROAD AND STREET REPAIR FUNDS, City of Alice <br />County Engineer Don Richards recommended payment of Road and Street <br />Repair funds to the City of Alice in the amount of $107. He stated <br />that there is an annual cut-off date of September 1st for applying <br />for these funds, and the request from Alice is dated September 1st <br />but arrived late. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve <br /> payment of Road and Street Repair funds to the City of <br /> Alice in the amount of $107.
