Comm. Minutes--September 5, 1989 325 16. VECTOR CONTROL, Insurance claim paid County Auditor Ordelle Brua presented a bill from Northwest Auto Body in the amount of $2,642.91 for repair of a car owned by the Vector Control District that was damaged in an accident in May. Accountant Hike Hontplaisir reported that 20% was deemed to be the Vector Control driver's fault so the County is paying 20% of the cost of repair from the Collision Trust Fund. MOTION, passed Hrs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Sondrall seconded to pay the bill to Northwest Auto Body in the amount of $2,642.91, with the County receiving $2,225.94 from the insurance claim. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 17. WEED CUTTING NOTICE, Publication approved HOTION, passed Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the County Auditor publish the annual notice for weed cutting in the official newspaper. Motion carried. 18. BIDS FOR ROAD PAVING, Conflicting time of opening Don Richards stated that there was an error in advertising the time of bid opening for the County Road 5 and County Road 10 paving project near Wheatland. One bid was received by 10:00 AM and opened at that time, but the bidder's proposal form stated that bids would be opened at 11:00 AM. Two other bids were received by 11:00 AM, and Hr. Richards recommended opening them. States Attorney Robert Hoy agreed that the County Commission should open these two bids, as the bidder's proposal sent to the contracting firms should prevail. The following bids were opened and read: Border States Paving, Inc. F-M Asphalt, Inc. $182,291.68 $13'7,547.26 The Road Department will review these bids along with others received today, and report back to the Commission. , 19. SOCIAL SERVICES, Actin~ Director's salary Chairman Eckert presented a bill from Scott Kildahl as Acting Director of Cass County Social Services in the amount of $749.88 for the two weeks that he has worked in Cass County. Hr. Eckert felt this needed approval from the County Commission, as well as authorization to sign a salary and pay grade form for Hr. Kildahl. Hr. Eckert stated that Hr. Wieland had some concerns about Social Services, basically some actions that have been taken. Hr. Shannon suggested delaying this to see if Mr. Wieland, who had a doctor appointment for a knee injury, will be attending the meeting later. 20. INSURANCE BILL FOR MINI-TRAIN, Referred to Bonanzaville Mr. Eckert suggested referring a bill to Bonanzaville in the amount of $75.00 for liability insurance coverage on a mini-train used during the recent "Bonanzaville Days" activities. The bill was paid by the County but the Commissioners were in agreement that the Auditor should refer it to Bonanzaville for reimbursement. Mr. Shannon asked the Auditor to let the Commission know what happens to the bill.
