Comm. Minutes--September 5, 1989 324 13. COURTHOUSE TELEPHONE COHMITTEE, Recommendations adopted Mr. Shannon reported that he, Mike Steiner, and Glenn Ellingsberg met concerning the Courthouse telephone system. They prepared a report outlining ten problems and recommended solutions, and Hr. Shannon read the report. (See attached) MOTION, passed Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to adopt the telephone and related recommendations contained in the "Report to Commission" from the Telephone Committee, dated August 15, 1989. Mr. Steiner was present and stated that his only concern is how much time wi]] be required of his department. With these recommendations, he felt the time involvement should be minima]. If it does require too much time from his department, he would ask the Commission to reassess it at that time. Mrs. Toussaint stated that the 1990 Social Services budget request includes funds to purchase a new telephone system as recommended by the telephone committee. At the ca]] for the question and upon roi) ca]] vote, the motion carried unanimously. 14. BID OPENING, Rush River brid~e and road pavin~ near Wheat]and A bid opening was advertised for 10:00 AM for bridge replacement on the 'lower branch of the Rush River, 1.5 miles east and 1.5 miles south of Prosper. The Engineer's estimate on the project is $92,413.50. The following bids were received: Dakota Bridge Builders Wanzek Construction Co. Northern Improvement Co. Industrial Builders, Inc. Korby Construction Co. Swingen Construction $ 99,334.49 $ 94,737.92 $125,408.75 $122,887.50 $105,457.30 $105,957.15 A bid opening was advertised for 10:00 AM for bituminous surfacing and incidental items on County Road 5 from Wheat]and south two miles and County Road 10 from Wheatland north and west two miles. Engineer's estimate on the project is $132,993.20. One bid was received from Northern Improvement Company in the amount of $144,324.70. MOTION, passed Hrs. loussaint moved and Hr. Sondra]] seconded to receive and refer the above bids to the Road Department for evaluation and recommendation. Motion carried. 15. BONANZAVILLE, Communications Buildin~ Chairman Eckert reported on an earlier request for approval to move a Communications Building to Bonanzavi]le. Mr. Shannon suggested delaying it in the absence of Commissioner Wieland, who intends to report to the Commission at a later date on insurance matters at Bonanzaville and the Red River Valley Fair. Mr. Eckert asked for any comment from the audience, but there was none.
