Comm, Minutes--September 5, 1989 323 MOTION, passed Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that Abatement #3905, submitted by Lloyd and Ann Jasper for property in Reed Township be approved as presented and upon recommendation of the County Director of Equalization. Hr. Sondrall asked if this is agreeable with Reed Township, and Hr. Klein stated that they have valued the property at $12,000 for the 1989 assessment. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 8. ABATEMENT HEARING, Thorpe A hearing was held on application for abatement and settlement of taxes submitted by Stephanie Thorpe for property in Stanley Township. The Stanley Township Board recommended that the abatement be approved as submitted, which is to reduce the valuation from $115,000 to $76,100, due to depreciation of the property. NOTION, passed Hr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Shannon seconded that Abatement ~3906, submitted by Stephanie Thorpe be approved as presented and upon recommendation of the County Director of Equalization and the Stanley Township Board. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 9. TAX EQUALIZATION DIRECTOR, Out of state travel MOTION, passed Upon the request of Frank Klein, Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to grant permission for out of state travel to Mr. Klein to attend the International Conference on Assessment Administration at Fort Worth, Texas, on September 24-27, 1989. Hr. Shannon asked for a brief update on the conference after Hr. Klein returns. 10. ROAD AND STREET REPAIR FUNDS, Approved MOTION, passed Upon recommendation of the County Engineer, Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to forward Pothole and Street Repair Funds to the following cities: Casselton-- $3,484, Tower City--$493, Amenia--$209, and Page--S452. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 11. CASS COUNTY ELECTRIC, Utility permit MOTION, passed Upon recommendation of the County Engineer, Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to grant a utility permit to Cass County Electric to place an overhead power line on the outside one foot of County Road 2 right of way in Section 21, Dows Township. Motion carried. 12. UNITED CABLE MANAGEMENT, Utility permit MOTION, passed Hr. Sondrall moved and Hr. Shannon seconded to allow United Cable Hanagement, Inc. of Grand Forks to bury a segment of cable south of Horace on the west side of County Road 14, as recommended by the County Engineer with the provision that they bore through any asphalt surfaced approaches. Motion carried.
