He did not feel this <br />would cost Cass County any additional money other than what has been <br />allocated to the solid waste management effort. He stated that some <br />of the matching funds wi]] come from the City of Fargo. Mr. Sondral! <br />felt the County needs fu'l] cooperation and support from the City of <br />Fargo, and Mr. Haugen stated that the City of Fargo would be included <br />in the grant application. He stated that they are participating <br />fully in these efforts. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondra]l seconded to authorize <br /> Ear] Haugen, County Planner, to prepare an application for <br /> Environmental Protection Agency so]id waste management <br /> funds to study and for possible implementation of pilot <br /> projects with the provision that before the application is <br /> submitted, that letters of endorsement from the cities of <br /> Fargo and West Fargo be provided to all Commissioners and <br /> to include the letters with the application. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />16. SOCIAL SERVICES, Position reclassification <br />A letter dated on this date was received from Rainer Lobitz, <br />Supervisor'of Family Services, Cass County Social Services. Mr. <br />Lobitz was also present and stated that the letter refers to three <br />positions which were approved for reclassification by the Social <br />Service Board as early as February, 1989, but he was unable to <br />determine whether the Director, To~ Jensen, had presented them to the <br />County Commission for approval. Sandra Brumfie]d was present and <br />stated that she concurs with all of the reclassifications. MOTION, wfthdrawn <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondral] seconded to <br /> reclassify the positions as outlined in Mr. Lobitz's letter <br /> of August 15, 1989. However, Mr. Shannon felt that a <br /> determination should be made on whether the Commission did <br /> deal with this previously, and he asked that Hr. Lobitz and <br /> Ms. Brumfie]d work with the Commission Secretary to find <br /> out the history on these positions so the Commission can <br /> act on it at the next meeting. The motion and second were <br /> withdrawn and the matter wi]] be placed on the next agenda. <br /> Mr. Wie]and stated that he would like some information on <br /> the differences in the job descriptions of these positions <br /> for the next meeting. <br /> <br />17. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of state travel MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondra]l moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> out of state travel for Gilbert Engel, Social Services <br /> employee, to St. Cloud, MN, on August 24, 1989. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />18. COURTHOUSE FURNITURE, Request for ~lass enclosed bookcases <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wie]and moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to refer a <br /> letter to the Cass County Historical Society from the <br /> District Court Chambers in Hettinger, ND regarding <br /> availability of glass enclosed bookcases, which they are <br /> interested in purchasing for restoration in the Adams <br /> County Courthouse. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
