Comm. Hinutes--August 15, 1989 311

Lila Hutchinson stated that she talked to a State Architect in
Bismarck, and he mentioned a State statute whereby the County
Commission could stop the use of steel siding on buildings, and she
feels the church wi]] be next.

Robert Hoy stated that NDCC 55-02-07 deals with the preservation of
historical sites and basically, it says they should be restored and
preserved in a manner consistent with the recommendations of the
State Historical Board or the Superintendent of that Board. Mr. Pau]s stated that the communications building
wi]] not be moved for quite some time because of asbestos problems.
He was not aware of any objection to that building by either side.

Mr. Sondrall stated that he has been attending the Historical Society
Board meetings as a Commission representative, but was not in
attendance at the August 1st meeting. He stated that he will report
back to the Commission on future meetings.

14.
