CHECKS OUTSTANDING, Treasurer authorized to Gancel MOT£ON, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County <br /> Treasurer, according to her letter of July 17, 1989, be <br /> authorized to cancel future outstanding warrant-checks, <br /> without further Board approval, after every attempt has <br /> been made to locate the check holders. Motion carried. <br /> <br />21. WEST FARGO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Annual dues MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to continue the <br /> County's membership with the West Fargo Chamber of Commerce <br /> and authorize payment of $175.00 for membership investment <br /> dues. Mr. Wieland noted that the Commission has approved <br /> this in the budget, and questioned Board action at this <br /> time. Mr. Shannon felt the point was well taken, and he <br /> questioned paying membership dues to chambers of commerce. <br /> He felt the County should be ~ncluded as ex officio members <br /> without paying membership fees. Mr. Wieland stated that <br /> this can be reviewed at budget time, and he asked the <br /> Commission Secretary to review the history on this. Motion <br /> carried with Mr. Shannon opposing. <br /> <br />22. CEMETERY, North of West Fargo <br />Auditor Ordelle Brua received correspondence from Betty Gorden of <br />Harwood, ND requesting a $500 donation toward a community project to <br />establish a bank account in the name of the Sheyenne Pioneer Memorial <br />Cemetery with the hope that the interest on the account would pay for <br />the perpetual care of a neglected cemetery located north of West <br />Fargo along Cass County Road 17. The Auditor provided information <br />from the North Dakota Century ,Code on abandoned cemeteries, but Mr. <br />Sondrall did not feel this would be considered an abandoned cemetery. <br /> HOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to request <br /> the States Attorney to review this and determine what an <br /> abandoned cemetery is and what the County Commission's <br /> obligations are. Motion carried. <br /> <br />23. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of state travel. ~OTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> out of state travel for Bev Bohn to Fergus Falls, MN, for <br /> dealing w~th a runaway teenager. Motion carried. <br /> <br />24. OVERTIME EXEMPTIONS, Sheriff's office <br />Each Commissioner received a letter signed by the administrative <br />staff of the Cass County Sheriff's Office regarding notification that <br />they would no longer be eligible for overtime compensation. In the <br />letter, they requested that the Commission reconsider their earlier <br />motion and exclude the Sheriff's Office from these requirements until <br />after a review has been made as suggested by States Attorney Robert <br />Hoy, who was chairman of the Personnel Policy Review subcommittee on <br />salaries. Mr. Wieland stated that the Commission has not had enough <br />time to review this since the letter was received this morning just <br />prior to the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
