Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman and the Auditor be authorized to sign a County <br /> Deed to Alan and Tammie Olson for the purchase of Lot 8, <br /> Wallas' Subdivision to the City of Horace, for $353.93 <br /> and to cancel the 1988 general tax of $27.53. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. SOCIAL SERVICES, Salary ranges revised by State <br />A letter was received from Personnel Assistant Sandra Brumfield <br />regarding State revision of salary ranges effective July 1, 1989. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wie]and moved and Mr. Sondra]] seconded to approve <br /> moving all Social Service employees sa]aries to the minimum <br /> of the State ranges effective July 1, 1989. On roll ca]] <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />13. PERSONNEL DIRECTOR POSITION, Committee appointed MOTION, passed <br /> Hfs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Sondra]] seconded to appoint <br /> Personnel Assistant Sandra Brumfie]d, Superintendent of <br /> Schools Joyce Ho]m, Clerk of District Court Dorothy Howard, <br /> Sheriff employee Jim Thoreson, a member from the County <br /> Social Service Department, Commissioner Wie]and, and <br /> Commissioner Toussaint to serve on a committee for <br /> selection of a Personnel Director for Cass County. <br /> Mr. Shannon asked that the motion include that, before <br /> advertising to fi]] the position, the committee would <br /> report back to the Commission on three areas of concern, <br /> these being the work plan of what this person wi]] be <br /> engaged to do, consideration of a budget, and the physical <br /> location for this person. He asked that the full <br /> Commission be involved on the key points~ Motion carried. <br /> <br />14. JAIL, Ventilators beinR installed <br />Mr. Sondrall reported that ventilators are being installed at the <br />present time to help cool the temperatures in the County Jail. <br /> <br />15. COUNTY RECORDS, Copyin~ charRe discussed <br />Mrs. Toussaint asked if the Commission should request a States <br />Attorney opinion on whether the County should charge for copies of <br />documents when requested by the public. Hr, Wie]and stated that the <br />Commission has previously discussed having the public make requests <br />in writing when asking for specific documents, and that ample time <br />be allowed for the individual that has to provide it so that it does <br />not disrupt their work schedule, Hfs. Toussaint asked if the <br />Commission should establish a policy and a fee, and Hr. Shannon <br />volunteered to investigate this 'and make an initial report at the <br />next Commission meeting, He felt a reasonable po]icy could be worked <br />out, with the thought being that it not be difficult for the public <br />to obtain copies of records. <br /> <br /> <br />
