Sondrall requested that the County Road Department repair the
large potholes in the Juvenile Center parking lot and fill the small
cracks. Hr. Richards cautioned him about using certain materials to
fill small cracks because they can later cause problems when the
County would decide to put a hot mix overlay on the parking lot.
Hr. Richards stated that they could pull the crews in at any time to
repair tl-,e potholes, and he felt they could do the paint striping
during August.

8, STANLEY TOWNSHIP, Rutten brid~e
Hr. Wieland reported that he received another letter from Stanley
Township concerning the Rutten bridge, and they are correct in that
the County has not responded to their letter of January 3, 1989. He
gave the letter to Mr. Richards and asked him to respond to the
Commission, and the Commission will respond to Stanley Township.

9. SLEEPY HOLLOW STREET IHPROVEHENT PROJECT, Bids accepted
Engineer Steve Dewald, Attorney Dan Twichell, and Randy Herman
representing the Sleepy Hollow homeowners, were present. Mr. Dewald
stated that Northern Improvement Company was the low bidder, in the
amount of $60,152.20 for the base bid and both alternates, on the
project for street improvements in Sleepy Hollow.

Mr. Dewald stated that he met with the people of the entire
development of Sleepy Hollow, and they are aware that should problems
occur that are of a major cost effect, that it would be their
responsibility. He stated that they most likely would be looking to
Stanley Township to do minor improvements such as sealing cracks and
filling potholes. Mr. Shannon asked about the estimated design life
of the road, and Mr. Dewald stated that it would be about 20 years
depending on maintenance. He stated that the development has
established a fund which was set up as a source of funding for future
repairs. Mr. Shannon asked if that fund would be suitable to use for
filling potholes, and Mr. Dewald stated that it would.
