NOTION, passed <br /> Upon the recommendation of the County Engineer, <br /> Hr. Sondrall moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign the resolution recommending <br /> that the State Highway Department accept the low bid of <br /> Wanzek Construction Company in the amount of $248,946.05 <br /> for the Rose Coulee bridge east of Prairie Rose. On roll <br /> call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. ROAD AND STREET REPAIR FUNDS, Briarwood and Davenport <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Upon the recommendation of the County Engineer, Hr. Wieland <br /> moved and Hr. Sondrall seconded to allow City Pothole and <br /> Street Repair funds to be encumbered by the City of <br /> Briarwood in the amount of $667.00 and by the City of <br /> Davenport in the amount of $418.00. On roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />7, JUVENILE CENTER PARKING LOT, Improvements <br />Hr. Sondrall requested that the County Road Department repair the <br />large potholes in the Juvenile Center parking lot and fill the small <br />cracks. Hr. Richards cautioned him about using certain materials to <br />fill small cracks because they can later cause problems when the <br />County would decide to put a hot mix overlay on the parking lot. <br />Hr. Richards stated that they could pull the crews in at any time to <br />repair tl-,e potholes, and he felt they could do the paint striping <br />during August. <br /> <br />8, STANLEY TOWNSHIP, Rutten brid~e <br />Hr. Wieland reported that he received another letter from Stanley <br />Township concerning the Rutten bridge, and they are correct in that <br />the County has not responded to their letter of January 3, 1989. He <br />gave the letter to Mr. Richards and asked him to respond to the <br />Commission, and the Commission will respond to Stanley Township. <br /> <br />9. SLEEPY HOLLOW STREET IHPROVEHENT PROJECT, Bids accepted <br />Engineer Steve Dewald, Attorney Dan Twichell, and Randy Herman <br />representing the Sleepy Hollow homeowners, were present. Mr. Dewald <br />stated that Northern Improvement Company was the low bidder, in the <br />amount of $60,152.20 for the base bid and both alternates, on the <br />project for street improvements in Sleepy Hollow. <br /> <br />Mr. Dewald stated that he met with the people of the entire <br />development of Sleepy Hollow, and they are aware that should problems <br />occur that are of a major cost effect, that it would be their <br />responsibility. He stated that they most likely would be looking to <br />Stanley Township to do minor improvements such as sealing cracks and <br />filling potholes. Mr. Shannon asked about the estimated design life <br />of the road, and Mr. Dewald stated that it would be about 20 years <br />depending on maintenance. He stated that the development has <br />established a fund which was set up as a source of funding for future <br />repairs. Mr. Shannon asked if that fund would be suitable to use for <br />filling potholes, and Mr. Dewald stated that it would. <br /> <br /> <br />
