The bill was referred to the States Attorney and <br />after reviewing it, Mr. Hoy stated that he believes this is the type <br />of out of pocket expenses referred to in the contract. NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to pay the bill <br /> to Eide Helmeke Company in the amount of $504.00. The <br /> motion carried on roll call vote with four members voting <br /> "Aye", Mrs. Toussaint opposing. <br /> <br />33. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Report on power failure <br />A letter was received from Sheriff Don Rudnick expressing concern <br />over the loss of their telephone system, computer system, lighting, <br />and use of the elevators in the Courthouse during a power failure <br />which lasted up to 55 minutes in some areas of the City of Fargo last <br />week. He stated that he discussed this with former Administrative <br />Assistants and with Richard Offutt, former Director of Administrative <br />Services. The Sheriff thought the matter would be addressed during <br />budget sessions and funds allocated for correcting the problem, but <br />this has not been done. NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Glenn <br /> Ellingsberg be asked to prepare a recommendation relative <br /> to the power outage and provide it to the Commission for <br /> consideration at the June 20th meeting. Motion carried. <br /> <br />34. COURTHOUSE ELEVATOR, 'South wing <br />Mr. Wieland reported that the elevator in the Courthouse south wing <br />is not operating properly, and the matter was referred to <br />Commissioner Sondrall for investigation. <br /> <br />35. SHERIFF, Budget transfer requested <br />A letter from Sheriff Don Rudnick requesting the Commission to <br />consider transferring contingency funds to the Transportation of <br />Committed Persons line item within the Jail budget was referred to <br />the County Accountant for his review, since the request is new to the <br />Commission today. <br /> <br />36. COURTHOUSE MAINTENANCE DEPARTHENT, Equipment request <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to refer a <br /> request to purchase a lawn edger for the Haintenance <br /> Department in the amount of $299.00 to the Commissioners <br /> having the Buildings and Grounds Portfolio for a decision. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />37. CONTRACT ON ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS/FIRE SAFETY EQUIP., Renewed <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign the contract with Peterson <br /> Mechanical, Inc. for environmental systems and fire safety <br /> equipment maintenance in the amount of $18,950.40 from June <br /> 1, 1989, through May, 1990; and that the Commission <br /> Secretary place this in a tickler file for April 1st to <br /> remind the States Attorney to review the contract language <br /> prior to next June.
