Comm. Minutes--June 6, 1989 265 <br /> <br />13. BRIDGE LETTING, State Highway Department <br />Don Richards stated that the Barnes Township bridge near Prairie Rose <br />over the Rose Coulee, Project BRO 9(13), will be on the state letting <br />at Bismarck on June 16th, with completion by November 3, 1989. <br /> <br />14. U.S. WEST COMMUNICATIONS, Utility permits NOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Shannon seconded to approve <br /> two utility permits to U.S. West Communications for buried <br /> cable under County Road 15 between Sections 16-17, Warren <br /> Township, and under County Road 32 east of Amenia between <br /> Sections 23-26, Rush River Township. Motion carried. <br /> <br />15. ROAD AND STREET REPAIR FUNDS, Reile's Acres NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to approve <br /> payment of 1989 Pothole and Street Repair funds to the City <br /> of Reile's Acres in the amount of $438.00. Motion carried. <br /> <br />16. GRASSHOPPER SPRAYING, Along road right of way <br />Don Richards reported on concerns by the Kinyon Township Board of <br />Supervisors about the number of grasshoppers on road right of way. <br />They indicated that they would be willing to spray the County right <br />of way at the same time and charge the County only for the cost of <br />the chemical, which is estimated to be $24.00 per mile. Mr. Richards <br />indicated that he would like to participate with other townships in <br />the County as well, providing they spray their right of way. He did <br />not know where the money would be paid from but stated that it is an <br />emergency situation, as Kinyon Township will begin spraying the next <br />day or two. He would like to find a way to fund the cost of the <br />chemical so that the County could participate. Mr. Sondrall felt <br />this should be under the jurisdiction of the Vector Control District. <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Sondrall moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded that Cass <br /> County participate in the grasshopper program along County <br /> road right of way at the request of the township board of <br /> supervisors and contingent upon them spraying their own <br /> right of way. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />17. RAILROAD SIGNAL CROSSING, Harwood area NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Hr. Shannon seconded that the <br /> Chairman be authorized to sign a resolution to authorize an <br /> agreement to provide for the construction of Federal Aid <br /> Secondary Project Title II Safety Program and to sign the <br /> agreement for construction with the State Highway <br /> Department for railroad crossing signal on County Road 22 <br /> near Harwood, at a 10% cost to the County. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />18. BRIDGE IN STANLEY TOWNSHIP, Rutten property <br />As former Chairman of the Stanley Township Board of Supervisors, <br />Warren Solberg stated that some time ago he sent a letter to the <br />Commission documenting the township's position on the Rutten bridge, <br />and he has not received a response. Mr. Wieland stated that it was <br />referred to the County Engineer, and the Commission has not had a <br />report back from him. <br /> <br /> <br />
