Minutes--April 4, 1989 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to <br />approve the committee representation according to <br />the hand-out received on this date, and notify <br />the entities involved that they should furnish <br />names to the Commission within four weeks. Mr. <br />Wieland suggested making the final appointments <br />at the May 2nd meeting. Motion carried. <br /> <br />221 <br /> <br />20.POLICY, Reduction of memo writing/costing Comm. Minutes <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> In order to promote the reduction of memo writing <br /> and posting of County Commission Minutes, Mr. <br /> Shannon moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to <br /> establish policy that department heads and other <br /> supervisory staff are hereby required to <br /> incorporate Commission actions into their work <br /> plans in order to eliminate the need for sending <br /> out memos. Additionally, department heads and <br /> supervisory staff shall keep a current copy of <br /> the agenda and minutes conspicuously posted so <br /> that it can be easily read by staff and visitors. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />21.COMMISSIONER WIELAND, Excused at this time <br />Commissioner Wieland asked to be excused from the remainder of the <br />Commission meeting in order to attend another meeting. <br /> <br />22.VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT, Hiring field aides <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of the County Vector Control <br /> District, Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint <br /> seconded to allow the Director to hire a maximum <br /> of ten field aides for the 1989 mosquito control <br /> season at a salary range of $4.50-$5.50 per hour, <br /> to be hired starting April 15~ 1989, subject to <br /> qualifying for certification under Federal <br /> regulations. The motion carried on roll call <br /> vote with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />23.FARGO COMMUNITY HEALTH, Environmental report <br />Mr. Goodwin Hoff provided reports dated February 1 and March 16, <br />1989, on the environmental health services provided by the Fargo <br />Comm~lnity llea]t.h Center. <br /> <br />24.STATE HEALTH DEPT, Cortes. re: disposal of s~.~d_g~ <br />Mr. Eckert reported that he received copies of correspondence from <br />the (:ity of Moorhead addressed to the North Dakota Department of <br />llealth regarding disposal of sludge on North Dakota farmland, lle <br />asked Gooduin ltoff to revieu the situation, and Mr. }Ioff reported <br />that this is an acceptable and desirable method of disposing of <br />sludge because it provides some benefit to the farmland, tie did not <br />foresee any problem with the application by the City of Moorhead. <br />Mr. Shannon asked about heavy metals, and Mr. Hoff felt this is being <br />considered and that an appropriate analysis is being made. <br /> <br /> <br />
