163 <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved that the County Engineer be instructed to <br />refer four of the bills to the States Attorney and refer one bill to <br />Jonathan Garaas. Mr. Sondrall felt the amount of money involved is <br />not worth the effort. The motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> The County Engineer reported on an accident north of <br />Buffalo involving a County Road Department employee driving a gravel <br />truck. A person in another vehicle required hospitalization. The <br />truck driver indicated that the brakes did not work the first time he <br />applied them but did work the second time. The accident was <br />investigated by the Sheriff's Department and the State Highway <br />Patrol, and has been referred to the County's insurance company. <br />Mr. Richards could not see that there was negligence involved on the <br />County's part. Mrs. Stanton asked Mr. Richards to keep the <br />Commission posted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland again moved that the County Engineer be instructed <br />to refer four unpaid bills of the County Road Department to the <br />States Attorney for possible collection. Mr. Larson, who was absent <br />at the time this motion was first introduced, now seconded the motion <br />and the motion carried. <br /> <br /> Upon the request of Mr. Ted Economon, Mr. Sondrall moved and <br />Mr. Larson seconded to contribute $500.00 from the Promotional <br />Advertising miscellaneous fund to the Youth Health Day Seminar to be <br />held at the North Dakota State University on April 17, 1989. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br /> Upon the request of Jim Berglie from the Social Services <br />Community Survival Program, Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to approve the transformation of a half-time secretary to <br />4/5 time Administrative Secretary II, from Pay Grade 10 to a Pay <br />Grade 12, due to assuming light bookkeeping and record keeping tasks. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve the <br />following applications received to date for renewal of County Beer <br />and Liquor Licenses, subject to township approval and the Sheriff's <br />report being acceptable.
