101 A bid opening was scheduled for 10=00 AH on the purchase of property and liability insurance. One bid was received from the Dawson Insurance Agency for liability insurance, and Mr. Bob Dawson was present. The County Auditor received premium reneNal notices from the State Fire and Tornado Fund for property insurance, but the figures do not reflect changes which Mere made in the insurance specifications. Mr. Eokert stated that he Nas informed by the States Attorney that the County is not required to secure bids for insurance but may negotiate for it. Hr. Larson moved and Mr. Nieland seconded to accept the bid of Dawson Insurance Agency in the amount of $122,017.00 for County liability insurance as quoted. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Hr. Wieland moved and Hr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to negotiate with the State Fire and Tornado Fund for County property insurance for the next 12 months. Motion carried. Administrative Assistant Diana Murack reported that Intern Terry Baumgarten assisted with scheduling an employees seminar on July 26th and department heads on September 20th regarding the Employee's Assistance Program. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Diana Muraok and Personnel lechnician Sandra 8rumfield be authorized to attend the Internal Revenue Oode Section 89 Seminar dealing with health insurance and personnel on July 21, 1988, at a cost of $50.00 each. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Concerning a revised draft of a Bonanzaville presented by Diana Murack, Mr. Wieland stated that grammatically correct and needs to be updated. agreement it is not Hrs. Stanton asked for Diana Muraok's time log, and asked her to continue to keep track of her time until she is told not to. Concerning terms expiring July 31 on the County Social Services Board, Mr. Wieland proposed changing the membership to include more areas of expertise such as someone representing senior citizens, the medical field, business, banking or accounting, education, law enforcement, and private citizen. He felt that two Commissioners instead of three could represent the County Commission. He stated that he will submit names from the above categories and asked other members of the Commission to submit names to the secretary by Friday. Hr. Sondrall stated that the present Social Service Board members are very dedicated, and Mr. Wieland stated that his point is that the ma3ority have a similar background. Correspondence Nas read.
