100 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JULY 19, 1988 <br /> <br /> Chairman Don Eckert called the meeting to order with ail members <br />present as follows: Oscar Sondrall, Alon Wieland, Don Eokert, Ray <br />Larson and Jeannette Stanton. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as corrected. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to allow out of <br />state travel for Richard Offutt and Mike Montplaisir to St. Cloud, MN <br />on August 5, 1988, to view financial software regarding budget and <br />general ledger. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Richard Offutt, Director of Administrative Services, reported <br />that the City of Fargo has awarded the bid for curbing and gutter <br />restoration on 9th Street South at the Courthouse front entrance, and <br />the completion date is scheduled for August 15th. Mr. Sondrall asked <br />Mr. Offutt to talk to the foreman of the pro3ect about repairing the <br />Courthouse driveway entrances at the same time. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to authorize Richard <br />Offutt to contact the City of Fargo in regard to placement of "No <br />Parking" signs for a 50' space in front of the Courthouse. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to authorize the <br />purchase of window blinds from Lohse Interiors at a cost of <br />$440.40 for the Social Services public reception area on the first <br />and second floors. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland reported that the cornerstones depicting the four <br />conflicts have been installed in the Veteran's Memorial Plaza at the <br />front of the Courthouse. He has asked Richard Offutt to obtain a <br />cost estimate on taking a picture of the plaza and distributing it <br />to the organizations that contributed funds. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file <br />the Officer's Reports for June, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Attorney Bob Schaefer was present along with a delegation <br />from Normanna Township requesting the County Commission to consider <br />participating in the financing of bridge reconstruction between <br />Sections 26-55, Normanna lownship. 'The bridge was closed by the <br />County Engineer due to its unsafe condition. Concern has been <br />expressed by the township board, the Kindred School District <br />officials, and the people who provide emergency services to that <br />area. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded that a written <br />proposal, when received from this group, be presented to the Road and <br />8ridge Committee for review and recommendation to the Commission. <br />Discussion continued, and Mr. Wieland asked that a copy of the bus <br />route map be included with the proposal. Steve Grindberg from the <br />County Road Department was informed that no State funding is <br />available for this bridge because it is off-system. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
