63 <br /> <br /> Sheriff Rudniok reported on a vacancy in the Juvenile Detention <br />Center due to a staff member, Patti Wasmuth, moving from that <br />position to fill a part-time position in the Jail. He stated that he <br />has already hired Kelly Id$o in Pay Grade 11 at a salary of $1,O00 <br />per month to fill the vacancy in the Detention Center. The Sheriff <br />stated that he discussed this with Sandra Brumfield, Personnel <br />Technician, but he could not delay the hiring for security reasons. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieiand moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Sheriff be <br />authorized to hire personnel in emergency situations providing he <br />notifies the Commission of his actions in writing. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign the salary and pay grade form for the hiring of <br />Keiiy Idso in Pay Grade I1 at a saiary of $1,000 per month. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> The Sheriff reported that his office advertised for informal <br />bids for a radio system, and Mr. Wieland suggested that they be <br />opened in the County Auditor's Office, as stated by the Sheriff, and <br />brought to the County Commission for approvai. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland presented a proposed "Earnest Money Receipt and <br />Purchase Agreement" concerning property for sale south of the <br />Courthouse. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the <br />Chairman be authorized to sign the "Earnest Money Receipt and <br />Purchase Agreement". Discussion followed on possible uses of the <br />property if the County were to purchase it. Mrs. Stanton asked how <br />much money would be involved in addition to the purchase price of <br />the property. Chairman Eokert agreed that it would be appropriate to <br />view a written proposal on costs. At the call for the question and <br />upon roi1 call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson <br />employees, Dean Wawers and Chuck Sauvageau, <br />state travel on May 17-20, 1988, to Regina, <br />carried. <br /> <br />seconded that Sheriff <br /> be authorized out of <br /> Saskatchewan. Motion <br /> <br /> Administrative Assistant Diana Muraok reported on a recent <br />attempted burglary in the Register of Deeds Office in the Courthouse. <br />Director of Administrative Services Richard Offutt stated that he <br />will be meeting with the Sheriff's Office to discuss costs and <br />recommendations on Courthouse security. <br /> <br /> Diana Muraok reported that she and County Planner Earl Haugen <br />will be attending a demonstration on computer aided drafting <br />sponsored by Anderson Land Surveying, Inc. Mrs. Stanton asked to be <br />advised of the date. <br /> <br /> Diana Muraok reported that the County has an option to pay for <br />medical examinations for those Road Department truck drivers who will <br />be required to have them. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded <br />that Cass County pay for physical examinations for those employees of <br />the County Road Department required to have them. The motion carried <br />on roll call vote with four members voting "Aye" and Mr. Nieland <br />opposing. <br /> <br /> <br />
