20, <br /> <br /> A letter was received from Clarence Miller, County Director of <br />Tax Equalization, stating that he intends to retire as of July 1, <br />1988. Mr. Nieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to accept Mr. <br />Miller's resignation with regret and send him a letter thanking him <br />for the work he has done for Cass County for a great number of <br />years, and expressing appreciation for the advance notice and for <br />his willingness to help on a part-time basis after July 1st, <br />according to his letter. Hot&on carried. The Commission asked <br />Diana Hurack to obtain job descriptions for Hr. Hiller and for his <br />deputy Director of Tax Equalization. <br /> <br /> Upon the recommendation of States Attorney Robert Hoy, Mr. <br />Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign a Stipulation agreement between Riverview Place, <br />Inc. and Cass County regarding payment under protest of lgB? taxes <br />for Riverview Place, Inc., pending the outcome of their appeal on <br />request for tax-exempt status. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Robert Hoy presented a proposed lease <br />County-owned building at 57-11th Avenue North, <br />Head Start Program. <br /> <br />agreement for the <br />Fargo, used by the <br /> <br /> Robert Hoy stated that he received a copy of a letter from the <br />North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund addressed to the Chairman of the <br />Cass County Commission, and suggesting that the County may wish to <br />make a claim against the State 8onding Fund as a result of the tax <br />increment error. He stated that he will write a letter explaining <br />the situation. It was also noted that 8acres County has written a <br />letter expressing their opinion on the use of the North Dakota <br />Insurance Reserve Fund in this case. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to approve payment <br />of $109.20 to Administrative Assistant Diana Hurack for out of state <br />travel to Minneapolis, MN. On roll call vote the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland asked Diana Murack to notify Richard Offutt, <br />Director of Administrative Services, to chair a committee for <br />standardizing exterior signs. Hr. Wieland will sit on the committee <br />and the Architect should also be included. <br /> <br /> Hr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to accept the letter of <br />resignation from Victor Knudson, and thank him for taking part as an <br />advisory member of the Cass County Planning Commission. Hotion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Hrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to respond to a letter <br />from the American Red Cross informing them that Cass County would <br />like to cooperate with them in their request to use parking space at <br />the Juvenile Justice Center, but informing them that there are days <br />when the parking lot is fully utilized by the County. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
