ig <br /> <br /> Mr. Nieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to establish the <br />Barnes Township voting precinct at the Start Fireworks building, <br />subject to inspection and approval of the County Auditor. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Richard Offutt, <br />Director of Administrative Services, be authorized to purchase the <br />Social Services filing system, as he has previously specified; and <br />that the County's share of $21,911.22 be paid from Capital <br />Improvements. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Hr. Doug Christianson presented a petition for bridge repair or <br />replacement between Sections 26-35, Normanna Township. Several area <br />residents were also present stating the need for this bridge. They <br />have discussed the matter with the County Road Department and were <br />informed that this location is not on the proposed 1988 program. <br />The Chairman suggested that he and representatives of the County <br />Road Department contact Harold Thrane, Normanna Township Chairman, <br />to set up a time to view the bridge and the area with some of the <br />residents; and then report back to the County Oommission. <br /> <br /> Administrative Assistant Diana Muraok reported on the Minnesota <br />Association of County Administrators annual convention in <br />Minneapolis, which she attended last week. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Don Rudniok presented the 1987 annual report of the <br />County Sheriff's Department. He reported that he received a request <br />from Grand Forks County to reduce the fee for housing their <br />prisoners during a time when they will be remodeling their jail. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Hrs. Stanton seconded to authorize Sheriff Don <br />Rudniok to reduce the rate for housing Grand Forks County prisoners <br />from $50.00 to $20.00 per day, during the time of their <br />reconstruction. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Cass County <br />agrees to sponsor the Community Development Block Grant program <br />through the State of North Dakota, using the same criteria as last <br />year for pay-back of funds. Motion carried unanimousIy. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Nieland seconded that John Meyer, <br />Veterans Service Officer, be authorized to attend a meeting in St. <br />Cloud, MN, on April 12, 1988. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Concerning the issue of smoking in County buildings, Mrs. <br />Stanton felt the Commission should again address this issue and work <br />toward a smoke-free building. The matter will be referred to the <br />committee who will be reviewing the personnel policy manual. <br /> <br /> Concerning a stipulation agreement between Judge Donald Cooke <br />and the North Dakota Supreme Court, the Chairman stated that he is <br />waiting for a response from the Supreme Court. <br /> <br /> <br />
