Commission Minutes-September 19, 2005 2981

Mr. Montplaisir said the Internal Revenue Service increased the federal reimbursement
mileage rate to 48.5 cents per mile, due to the high cost of gasoline, for all business miles
driven between September 1 and December 31,2005. Mr. Pawluk raised a point of order
on bringing this topic before the board since it was not a part of the published agenda.

After discussing the matter further, Mr. Montplaisir read from Personnel Policy 6.30, which
was revised by the county commission on December 6, 2004, and states in part as follows:
"The reimbursement rate is set by the County Commission and follows the state
reimbursement rate or the federal reimbursement rate, whichever is greater. Copies of the
current rates are available at the County Auditor's Office." Hearing no objection, Mr. Bennett
said the policy prevails and the county mileage reimbursement rate will temporarily increase
to 48.5 cents per mile. Mr. Montplaisir said the federal rate for 2006 has not been set yet.

Mr. Bennett reported on attending meetings with other local government entities regarding
waste incineration and the concept of converting trash into energy.

15.
