Damage to
rural power line and larger transmission power line structures have been reported.
Heavy rains have saturated Cass County over the last couple weeks creating full
ditches and drains. Rivers in Cass County are running swiftly and rising with
predictions of exceeding local flood levels over the next couple days.

DEATHS AND INJURIES: Three people were reported injured after high winds
toppled four semi-tractor trailer rigs on 1-29 near the city of Argusville. North Dakota
Highway Patrol and Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded and ended up
closing a stretch of 1-29 for approximately 5 hours. Diesel fuel and debris from these
vehicles was a problem dealt with after the injured were treated or transported.

DAMAGES: Minn-Kota Electric and Cass County Electric have suffered extensive
damages from this storm system. Minn-Kota has an estimated damage amount
totally $600,000 to 7 large electrical transmission lines that run in Cass County.
Cass County Electric is reporting at this time to have 16 electrical poles damage with
an estimated cost of repair at $40,000.

Hundreds of trees are reported to have been uprooted, damaged severely or
completely as this storm cut a path through Cass County. Damage was most evident
and in order of observed extent in cities of Arthur, Tower City, Buffalo and Gardner.

Within these cities some residential structures were observed to have obvious
damage due to trees falling onto them. One home had a large grain bin that had
been blown into the home and was seen to be still resting on this residential
structure around noon. Damage to rural homes, out buildings and tree lines is
evident throughout Cass County.

The City of Tower City did lose power in the evening for several hours and lost two
lift stations, one of which cannot be repaired. This loss is predicted by the cities'
mayor, to have inflicted some damage to homes due to sewer or water backing-up
into homes.
Other cities that reported loss of power: Gardner, Grandin, Argusville, and Arthur.

Road sign damage or missing road signs have been reported to both state and
county officials in Cass County as a result of this storm.
