Cass County Declaration Resolution No. 20037/1~'~ <br /> <br />DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY <br /> CASS COUNTY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, electrical companies in Cass County have suffered damage to <br />electrical transmission lines, poles, and electrical tower structures from high winds with <br />speeds in excess of 100 MPH attributed to downburst winds/thunderstorm systems on <br />June 24 and 25, 2003; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the impact of these damages does threaten the economic viability of <br />electrical companies and the important electrical flow to individuals and to the county <br />electrical grid; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the damage to the electrical transmission lines, electrical poles, and <br />electrical tower structures is an uninsured loss and is in excess of what these electrical <br />companies can afford to bear; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Cass County <br />Commissioners declares an emergency and orders limited activation and utilization of the <br />Cass County Emergency Operations Plan to develop a detailed damage assessment, <br />alleviate hardship and initiate appropriate relief actions to limit the impact of this <br />emergency upon the citizens of and electrical companies in Cass County. <br /> <br />DATED at Fargo, North Dakota, this 21st day of July, 2003. <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br /> Scott Wagner, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir, <br /> County Auditor <br /> <br /> <br />
