· Issue resolutions affecting the emergency/disaster situations to facilitate local emergency <br /> operations (i.e. curfews, policies, and other controls) <br />· Provide for continuity of govermnent <br />· Initiate Mutual Aid Agreement, as necessary <br />· Authorize the purchase of emergency supplies, as necessary <br />· Maintain communications with state government and adjacent communities <br />· Coordinate emergency operations with incident commander <br />· Confer with or liaison with the Cass County State's Attorney to advise local officials on legal <br /> actions that they may exercise in handling emergency situations <br />· Assist in preparation of requests for state and federal assistance <br />· Coordinate and disseminate disaster-related public information or appoint a Public Information <br /> Officer (PLO) <br />· Implement and assign personnel to citizens inquiry center <br />· Coordinate with Emergency Manager to provide ongoing and final situation reports to the ND <br /> Division of Emergency Management <br />· Utilize Mutual Aid Agreements, as necessary <br />· Coordinate with Emergency Manager requests for specific outside assistance from the ND <br /> Division of Emergency Management <br />· Coordinate with Emergency Manager to support coordination/control and EOC to assess <br /> emergency/disaster situation <br />· Implement media release point and set schedule for periodic briefings, as required <br />· Coordinate release of all public information advisors and instructions with appropriate EOC staff <br /> <br />Recovery: · Rescind unneeded emergency policies; cancel state of emergency when appropriate <br /> · Coordinate after action reviews and reports <br /> · Prepare hazard mitigation recommendations with assistance of Emergency Manager, Engineer, <br /> Sheriff and others deemed necessary <br /> · Notify media when it is safe for evacuees to return to their homes <br /> · Release safety measures and precautions applicable to hazard and recovery activities <br /> <br />Reference Materials: Cass County Emergency Operations Plan, Cass County Disaster Handbook, Cass <br />County Personnel Policy Manual, Cass County Commission Policy Manual <br /> <br />6/27/03 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
