INVESTIGATION OF ABATEMENT APPLICATION

ABATEMENT NO. 4236 & 4237

Following is a report on the investigation of the abatement application off David D. Tessier

Cass County Board of Commissioners and State Tax Commissioner:

The applicant is asking that his farm residence exemption application be approved for the years
2001 and 2002. He states that he no longer works off the farm and that he farms approximately
600-700 acres.

The Stanley Twp board recommended approval after Cass County reviews the owners income
and approves.

I did visit with David Tessier and he indicated that he had worked for the sugar beet plant and
that he also farmed. He indicates that he no longer works off the farm. When I visited the
residence recently, he was in the field planting soybeans. His farm residence application
indicates that he meets the statutory requirements. I have no reason to question the information
presented in the application.

It's my recommendation to grant the exemption.

SUGGESTED MOTION: "I move that Abatement It's 4236 & 4237 be approved, as
recommended by the Director of Equalization."

Dated this 29th day of May, 2003.

Frank Klein
Director of Tax Equalization

j :\tax\wp~abate
