<br />Commission Minutes--February 3, 2003 2555 <br /> <br />7. COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL, Amend Section 4.00. Advisory Boards <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to appoint Rob lynch to the <br />Cass County Vector Control Board to complete the unexpired term of <br />Dean McBride, who resigned December 6, 2002. The term of Mr. lynch <br />will end December 31, 2003. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to appoint Mark Brodshaug to <br />the Fargo Planning Commission from their extra-territorial area to replace <br />Dr. Clarence Samuel, who is out of state for five months of each year. The <br />term 0 f Mark B rodshaug will expire July 1, 2003. 0 n roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Enerav and Environmental Research Center <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the following <br />contract submitted by respective department head, subject to state's <br />attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Energy and Environmental Research Center--membership in the Red River <br />Water Management Consortium; <br />Industrial Builders, Inc.--steel piling on the bridge in Section 15-22, Pleasant <br />Township, in the amount of $66,690; <br />Joanne Ottmar, Ottmar & Ottmar Law Firm--mental health public defender. <br /> <br />9. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase order for timber deck materials <br />A request was received from Keith Berndt, County Engineer, to add this item to the consent <br />agenda as two bids were submitted for timber deck materials for a bridge project. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to authorize the chairman to <br />sign a purchase order for contract delivery of timber deck materials from <br />Hills Products Group, Rapid City, South Dakota, in the amount of <br />$98,208.00 for Project TB0209. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />10. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Department of Transportation letter on Demonstration Proiects <br />Keith Berndt asked to add this item to the consent agenda today since the deadline for <br />requesting Demonstration Project funding is before the next Commission meeting. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to authorize the commission <br />chairman to sign a letter to the North Dakota Department of Transportation <br />requesting the long-term improvements project to Cass County Highway <br />17 be considered for future Demonstration Project funding at an estimated <br />cost of $26 million. The letter would further commit Cass County to fund <br />20% of the project, if approved. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
