REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MAY 26, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, <br />Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Social Services Board, <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Jim Berglie be <br />authorized to hire a part -time clerical employee for up to 20 hours <br />per week for the Community Survival Program. Mr. Wieland asked what <br />the rate of pay would be, and Mr. Berglie stated that it would be <br />Pay Grade 12 at about $5.50 per hour. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Fred Selberg, Chairman of the Cass County Planning <br />Commission, appeared before the Board along with County Planner Jerry <br />McCullough. At their last meeting, the County Planning Commission <br />recommended hiring assistance for Mr. McCullough. Mr. Selberg <br />requested approval for hiring a temporary planning assistant at the <br />rate of $6.00 per hour for 20 hours per week for a period of 6 months. <br />The estimated cost would be $2,880, but this amount was not included <br />in the 1987 County Planning budget. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. <br />Sondrall seconded that County Planner Jerry McCullough be authorized <br />to exceed his budget by not more than $2,900.00 for the purpose of <br />hiring a part -time planning assistant as requested. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chairman received correspondence and photographs from the <br />West Fargo City Planner of a problem of dumping and storage of materials <br />within the Meadowbrook Park area, which is outside their city limits. <br />The matter will be referred to the States Attorney. <br />A bridge petition and correspondence were received from Warren <br />L. Solberg, Chairman of the Stanley Township Board of Supervisors, <br />regarding the bridge between Sections 23 -24 near the Tony Rutten <br />property. The Chairman suggested placing the item on the June 9th <br />County Commission agenda. Stanley Township officials will be <br />notified of the meeting along with other interested parties and States <br />Attorney Robert Hoy will be requested to attend. <br />Mr. Peter Xenides, Professional Building Services, appeared <br />before the Board with a proposal for a janitorial contract for the <br />Courthouse, North Wing and South Wing in the amount of $4,178.00 per <br />month. Administrative Assistant Scott Krueger stated that Mr. <br />Xenides' firm has been cleaning the South Wing since it was first <br />occupied and he is very impressed with the quality of service. Mr. <br />Sondrall questioned awarding a cleaning contract for the entire <br />building without talking to other local cleaning companies. Mr. <br />Larson suggested delaying a decision for one week, and the Chairman <br />
