REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1986 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, Alon Wieland, <br />Oscar Sondrall and Ray Larson. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Discussion continued on professional liability insurance for <br />the States Attorneys. Mr. Larson suggested a self- insurance program <br />for all of the County's professional liability coverage. However, <br />States Attorney Robert Hoy stated that his concern is immediate since <br />the present policy expires the end of September. Mr. Sondrall moved <br />and Mr. Eckert seconded that the County provide States Attorneys <br />professional liability insurance at an annual premium of $3,120.00. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The Commissioners <br />were in agreement to begin looking at a future self- insurance program <br />at budget time. <br />Nominations were made for appointment to the Cass County Planning <br />Commission to fill the unexpired terms of Dayton Byram, Victor Knudson <br />and Joseph Moore, III, due to the State law requiring that membership <br />on the County Planning Commission consist of persons residing in the <br />respective County Commissioner Districts. <br />For Commissioner #1, Mrs Stanton proposed the names of Don Hanson <br />and Tom Archbold. From Commissioner District #2, Mr. Sondrall <br />proposed the names of H.A. (Hank) Hendrickson and Carl E. Elofson. <br />From Commissioner District #3, Mr. Larson stated that he has contacted <br />two candidates, but does not have a commitment from one. He suggested <br />delaying the appointment from his district until next week. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs Stanton seconded to appoint Carl Elofson <br />and Don Hanson to the Cass County Planning Commission, and to appoint <br />Tom Archbold to an advisory board. Mr. Eckert questioned how many <br />have been appointed to the advisory board, and the Chairman stated <br />that the Commission limited the number to three but it could be adjusted <br />from three to four members. Motion carried. <br />Correspondence was received from Victor Knudson, former member <br />of the County Planning Commission, stating that he would be willing <br />to serve on the advisory board. Mr. Eckert reported that Dayton Byram <br />indicated that he is also willing to serve on the advisory board. <br />A letter of resignation was received from Joseph Moore, III. Mrs. <br />Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to accept the resignation of <br />Mr. Moore with regrets, and request him to serve on the advisory board; <br />and that the number of members on the advisory board be changed from <br />three to four. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the terms of <br />Don Hanson and Carl Elofson on the County Planning Commission be for <br />
