REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MAY 13, 1986 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Becky Balk, County Planner, appeared before the Board regarding <br />a review of the Plat of Chandler First Addition in the north one -half <br />of Section 36, Barnes Township. She stated that the Cass County <br />Electric Cooperative has requested that the plat show the location <br />of existing underground power cables. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. <br />Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Plat of <br />Chandler First Addition, and that Becky Balk forward the comments <br />from Cass County Electric Cooperative to the Fargo Planning <br />Commission. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Planning Commission, Mrs. <br />Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to appoint Mr. Fred Selberg <br />to the Land Use Task Force Committee. Motion carried. <br />County Engineer Don Richards reported that he met last Friday <br />with the Salary Review Committee regarding two engineering positions <br />which were created last week. Mr. Wieland stated that the Salary <br />Review Committee adjusted the positions to be in pay grade 9 and pay <br />grade 10. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the position <br />of Engineering Technician 3 be amended to pay grade 9 at a starting <br />salary of $9.50 per hour, and that the position of Engineering <br />Technician 4 be amended to pay grade 10 at a starting salary of $10.50 <br />per hour. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Information from the State Highway Department titled "Guidelines <br />for the Use of Consultants on County Federal Aid Projects" was referred <br />to the County Engineer for his review, and he was asked to return <br />it to the Chairman next week. <br />Mr. Sondrall stated that he has received several complaints on <br />the condition of the road at Grandin between Cass and Traill Counties. <br />Don Richards will contact Traill County and request them to <br />participate in the cost of proper maintenance on that road. <br />Mr. Sondrall reported that the Executive Director of the North <br />Dakota Centennial Commission will be attending the June 24th meeting <br />of the Cass County Centennial Commission, which will be held at 3:00 <br />P.M. in the Juvenile Justice Center. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded that the Cass County Commission purchase 100 Official North <br />Dakota Centennial Lapel Pins at a cost of $200.00, to be paid from <br />the Promotional Advertising Fund; the pins to be given to the Cass <br />County Centennial Commission to sell. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />
