The following bids were read for the electrical construction: <br />Dakota Electric Construction <br />Fritz Electric <br />Globe Electric <br />Modern Electric of F -M <br />Northern Electric Construction <br />Rickard Electric <br />$25,175.00 <br />25,600.00 <br />32,939.00 <br />32,488.00 <br />32,200.00 <br />30,300.00 <br />A bid for the electrical construction from Midwest Electric also <br />did not indicate their contractor's license number on the outside <br />of the envelope. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr Larson seconded to proceed <br />with opening the bid envelope. The motion carried on roll call vote <br />with 3 members voting "Aye Mr. Wieland and Mr. Sondrall opposing. <br />The Architect found that no certificate of license renewal was <br />contained inside the bid envelope. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert <br />seconded to discontinue opening the bid of Midwest Electric. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the bids for <br />the Courthouse North Wing Remodeling be referred to the Architects <br />for tabulation and a report to the Commission at the next regular <br />meeting. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the lease <br />payment to the Cass County Building Authority in the amount of <br />$696,933.10. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The States Attorney was asked to review an agreement wit Philip <br />J. Thompson for the Courthouse dome artwork restoration. He <br />suggested that the Commission delete the words referring to a maximum <br />of 160 hours on the project, since the County awarded the bid on the <br />basis of $8,000.00 for the completion of the project. Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the agreement for services <br />as corrected between Philip J. Thompson and Cass County for the <br />restoration of Courthouse artwork. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. Commissioner Eckert and Scott Krueger were <br />asked to inquire about the scaffolding that will be required. <br />The Suggestion Box contained requests to change the employees' <br />sick leave policy back to what it was prior to the adoption of the <br />revised Personnel Policy Manual. Mr. Wieland stated that he was not <br />aware that the benefits were reduced. Another suggestion was received <br />pertaining to a day care center for employees' children and a <br />suggestion to pay employees twice per month. Mrs. Stanton felt that <br />liability insurance for a day care center would be too costly. The <br />Commission has not changed the policy on the monthly payroll period <br />because of added costs that would be involved. <br />Ordelle Brua, County Auditor, requested permission to hire staff <br />replacement for an employee in the computer room who has resigned. <br />The Commission suggested that the Auditor and Richard Offutt, Data <br />Processing Manager, discuss the position classification. Mr. Eckert <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County Auditor be authorized <br />
