REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MAY 6, 1986 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Discussion was held on the request for a change in County Road <br />Department personnel. Administrative Assistant Scott Krueger <br />presented two job descriptions prepared by the County Engineer, Don <br />Richards. Mr. Richards was unable to be present this morning, but <br />in a letter to the Commission indicated that these new positions will <br />assist him in keeping the increase of outside engineering fees to <br />a minimum even though the 10 -mill road levy represents close to a <br />200% increase in actual construction work being done by the Road <br />Department. Mr. Eckert suggested creating one new position at this <br />time, and Mr. Sondrall stated that he wishes to discuss this further <br />with the County Engineer before agreeing with two new positions. <br />Mr. Wieland stated that the Salary Review Committee will need to review <br />the positions, and make a recommendation to the Board. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs Stanton seconded to create the position <br />of Engineering Technician 4, pay grade 11, in the County Road <br />Department. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to create the position <br />of Engineering Technician 3, pay grade 10, in the County Road <br />Department. The motion carried on roll call vote with three members <br />voting "Aye Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Eckert opposing. <br />Scott Krueger reported that the County employees have not <br />selected a representative on the Salary Review Committee for the term <br />of Linda Brooks, which expired January lst. Mr. Wieland will call <br />a meeting of the past members of the Salary Review Committee, and <br />Mr. Larson suggested that the employees select their new <br />representatives by June 1st. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Vouchers No. <br />63,266 through No. 64,015 be approved and ordered paid. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign a resolution designating May 15th as Peace <br />Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as Police Week. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to send a letter to the North Dakota Historical Society <br />Board thanking them for the courtesies extended to the Cass County <br />Commission when they appeared before them on May 1st and 2nd.
