REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />DECEMBER 3, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes <br />of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick reported that the County Commissioners are <br />included in the premium amount approved last week for Sheriff's Law <br />Enforcement Officers' Liability Insurance. <br />Several of the County's department heads were present for <br />discussion on their proposed salary increases for 1986. Sheriff <br />Rudnick stated that Joe Novak of Employment Advisers, Inc. interviewed <br />him and about three other department heads for job evaluations, but <br />another person interviewed the remaining County department heads and <br />used a different format. The Sheriff was not satisfied with his <br />evaluation. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Commission <br />will make a final decision on salaries for all elected officials and <br />department heads at the next meeting on December 10th. However, the <br />motion and second were amended to make the final decision in two weeks. <br />Discussion was held before the call for the question. Mr. Wieland <br />asked if the department heads would prefer to be placed in a pay grade <br />on the County pay scale, and Sheriff Rudnick suggested that the <br />Commission add three pay grades on the current pay scale and the <br />salaries of most department heads would fall within the scale. <br />Chairman Larson appointed Commissioners Wieland and Stanton to make <br />a proposal on department heads salary increases, and the Sheriff stated <br />that the Department Heads will also make a proposal in the next week. <br />At the call for the question, the motion carried with four members <br />voting "Aye" and Mr. Wieland voting "Pass <br />The Commission requested the Administrative Assistant to send <br />a memo to all department heads asking how much they personally collect <br />in fees as an elected official and what liability is involved on their <br />part. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Vouchers <br />No. 58,902 through No. 59,788 be approved and ordered paid. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland asked if the Commission would be in agreement to <br />allow the County Road Department to assist with snow removal at <br />Bonanzaville for a special event scheduled for December 5th, and <br />everyone was in agreement. <br />Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, Mr. <br />Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor <br />be authorized to sign a Quit Claim Deed back to the State Highway <br />
