Serv. granted <br />out of state travel <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Sheriff Don Rudnick be authorized to purchase Law <br />Enforcement Officers' Liability Insurance at an annual cost of $28,402.00, and that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign the proper document. On roll call vote, the motion carried with five members voting <br />Aye Mr. Eckert being present at this time. The Sheriff will obtain figures for next week on including <br />County Commissioners under the policy. <br />County Engineer Don Richards reported that the Road Department may spend an additional $150,000.00 <br />for snow removal due to recent large amounts of snowfall. The Commission requested an update in the next <br />two weeks. <br />Mr. Frank Kadlec from Eide, Helmeke Company returned to further discuss the data processing <br />study. Mr. Eckert questioned why the data processing manager, which the County intends to hire, cannot <br />do the data processing study as part of his duties. The Administrative Assistant stated that by having <br />Eide, Helmeke do the study it will be completed in about four months instead of one year. Mr. Wieland <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Cass County hire the firm of Eide, Helmeke Company to engage in a <br />long -range data processing study as outlined to the Commission in a report dated August 19, 1985, titled <br />"Proposal for Developing a Long-Range Data Processing Plan" at a cost of $23,000 $31,000 according to the <br />fee schedule in said report. The motion carried on roll call vote with four members voting "Aye <br />Mr. Eckert opposing. <br />Upon the recommendation of Joyce Holm, County Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. Stanton moved and <br />Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint R.D. Brown and Kathy Hawken to the Cass County School Reorganization <br />Committee for three year terms to expire December 31, 1988; and to appoint Otto Bernhoft to replace Joan <br />MacDonald, whose term expires December 31, 1986. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to write a letter to the Richland County Commissioners <br />suggesting the date of December 17th at the time and place previously scheduled for a meeting to discuss <br />common concerns of the two counties. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign County Deeds for <br />property sold at the annual sale of tax forfeited property held on November 19, 1985. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />The County Auditor requested authorization to cancel the 1985 taxes in the amount of $252.95 on the <br />above property sold at the annual tax sale. Mr. Wieland questioned why the taxes should be cancelled, <br />and the County Auditor stated that this has been the procedure. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to not forgive the taxes for 1985 on the tax forfeited property. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant permission for out of state travel for Joyce <br />Temanson, County Social Services employee.
