CONTRACT APPROVAL, North Dakota State Water Commission; North Dakota <br />Department of Transportation Traffic Safetv; MvLocalGov.com <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the following <br />contracts submitted by respective department head, subject to state's <br />attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />North Dakota State Water Commission--Digital Aerial Survey Phase I and II <br />Hydraulic Analysis and Mapping Project; <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation-Traffic Safety Grant in the <br />amount of $9,000.00 for occupant protection and other traffic safety <br />enforcement by the Sheriffs Office; <br />MyLocaIGov.com--web design tool and display of properly tax information on <br />the Intemet. <br /> <br />10. HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, Authorize chairman to sign purchase orders for HP <br />r- Plotter and construction of chain link fence <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a purchase order in the amount of $17,900.00 for the <br />purchase of an HP Plotter for the Cass County Highway Department. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a purchase order in the amount of $8,635.00 for the <br />construction of 900 feet of chain link fence for the Cass County Highway <br />Department to replace the old fence on the north side exposure to Main <br />Avenue. BUDGET REVIEW, Preliminary bud<let approved at 66.12 mills <br />County Auditor Michael Montplaisir discussed the preliminary budget. Currently, the mili levy <br />is at 66.12 mills, compared to 62.69 for 2002. He said 2003 will be the first full year of <br />operation at the new jail. The budget includes 15 new employee requests, information <br />technology improvements, cuts in state revenues for Social Services, and a 3% cost of living <br />adjustment for county employees. After approval today, requests may not be increased. <br />Mr. Wieland said some reductions have already been made at meetings held last week. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to adopt the 2003 <br />preliminary county budget at 66.12 mills; to set a hearing date of <br />September 16, 2002, at 3:30 PM in the Commission Room, Cass County <br />
