CONTRACT APPROVAL, Border States Pavin!l: Division of Juvenile Services <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the <br />following contract submitted by respective department head, subJect to <br />state's attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign: On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Border States Paving for Cass County Highway 11 turn lane and bituminous <br />overlay project in the amount of $110,244.60; <br />Division of Juvenile Services for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act <br />funds in the amount of $30,000.00, according to a letter from Glenn Elllngsberg, <br />Sheriffs Department, dated today. <br /> <br />10. RESOLUTION #2002.11, Nomination for Excellence in Countv Government Award <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to adopt Resolution <br />#2002.11, as follows, nominating Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, <br />for the 2002 Appointed County Official of the Year Award. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #2002-11 <br />WHEREAS, Bonnie Johnson has worked for Cass County Government for 25 years, first <br />as the Regional Child Support Enforcement Director, and for the past 12 <br />years as County Coordinator; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson has always been an advocate of county government and has <br />worked toward making Cass County Government an efficient and effective <br />service provider for its citizens; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bonnie Johnson has shown exemplary leadership by her involvement in <br />numerous county activities and projects, including the soon-to-be-completed <br />$18 million Cass County Jail, various other county building and remodeling <br />projects, the combined 911 dispatch center, and interim legislative committee <br />work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson's remarkable record of ernpioyrnent spans nearly three decades <br />and her dedication to excellence on behaif of Cass County Government is <br />second to none. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, <br />North Dakota, hereby nominate Bonnie Johnson for Appointed County Official of the Year <br />in 2002. <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 5th day of August, 2002. <br /> <br />11.
