CONTRACT APPROVAL, Traffic Safety Grant: Accurate Controls: Lee Jones & Sons <br />Construction: Peterson Mechanical: Charlie & Sons Electric: North American <br />Communications Resource: Vector buildinQ lease: mosquito control aQreements <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the following <br />contracts submitted by respective department head, subject to state's <br />attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation-traffic safety grant in the amount of $1 ,500 to <br />purchase one radar unit; and amend Sheriff's Department budget for 2005 by increasing <br />revenue 101-3501-331.55-05 by $1,500 and expenditure 101-3502-421.74-06 by $1,500; <br />- Accurate Controls, Inc.-maintenance and service agreement for security automation <br />systems; <br />Lee Jones & Sons Construction, Peterson Mechanical, Charlie & Sons Electric-vector <br />control building; <br />North American Communications Resource-support and maintenance agreements to <br />Avaya for telephone switches located in each of the county buildings; <br />Wells Fargo Brokerage Services, LLC-vector control building 8-year lease agreement in <br />the amount of $900,000 at an interest rate of 4.29%; <br />2005 adult mosquito control agreements as they are presented in the Commission Office. <br /> <br />9. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Fee increase for civil process service <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the <br />assessment of $.50 per mile for each mile driven and a $1.00 telephone <br />fee for civil process served, according to the fee schedule approved by <br />the 2005 State Legislature effective July 1, 2005, per memorandum from <br />Chief Deputy Jim Thoreson. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />1 o. TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD, Reconvened for 2005 <br />Chairman Vanyo reconvened the 2005 Board of Tax Equalization. Frank Klein, County Tax <br />Director, referred to his letter of June 9 in which he enclosed a recommendation on the tax <br />appeal of Christopher and Jacqueline Gibbons. Mr. Klein submitted an amended letter to <br />the tax equalization board, dated June 16, adding two jurisdictions to his recommendation <br />for increases in various cities and townships in order to equalize assessments in the county. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Wagner seconded that the Christopher <br />Gibbons assessment be set at $24,000, as recommended by the West <br />Fargo City Assessor and the Director of Equalization. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein said he notified every city assessor and township clerk from the 27 jurisdictions <br />being recommended for adjustments today. Mr. Vanyo asked if there was anyone in the <br />audience who wished to address the board in regard to the increased valuations in the city <br />or township jurisdictions. No one came forward at this time. <br />
