CONTRACT APPROVAL, North Dakota Department of Transportation/Mark Sand & ,-- Gravel: Valley Gravel Products: Braun Intertec Corp: John Deere Credit: North Dakota Department of Transportation Traffic Safetv Grant: Youthworks/Juvenile Justice & Delinauency Prevention Act: North Dakota Department of Transportation/Industrial Builders MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the following contracts submitted by respective department head, subject to state's attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 11. _ North Dakota Department of Transportation--resolution accepting low bid of Mark Sand & Gravel Acquisition Company in the amount of $2,519,682.48 for Cass County Highway 26 reconstruction project; _ Valley Gravel Products--purchase of gravel for defined quantities and locations and the unit price for indefinite quantity deliveries; _ Braun Intertec Corp.--contract to conduct non-destructive pavement testing of county highway pavements; _ John Deer Credit--extension of an existing rental agreement for an additional year lease of a John Deer track dozer; _ North Dakota Department of Transportation--Traffic Safety Grant to allow for increased alcohol enforcement, and amend the Sheriffs Department budget accordingly; _ Youthworks/Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Act--2002 funding application; North Dakota Department of Transportation--resolution accepting low bid of Industrial Builders in the amount of $326,569.19 for the Cass County Bridge Project BRO- 9(026) in Berlin Township. RESOLUTION #2002-9, Honorina Brian Shorten, Metro COG MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to adopt the following Resolution #2002-9, as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. r-- WHEREAS, Brian Shorten has served as the Executive Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments for over 16 years; and WHEREAS, Brian Shorten provided a valuable service coordinating projects for the local governments which he served; and WHEREAS, Brian Shorten's exemplary skills were evident in the efficient manner in which he worked on various studies, with appropriate follow-up efforts to bring the plans to fruition; and ,-- WHEREAS, Brian Shorten has resigned from his position as the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Council of Governments to pursue other employment out of the Fargo-Moorhead area. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, North Dakota, hereby congratulates Brian Shorten on his 16 years of service as Executive Director
