PART IV(a) ,~ PROGRAM GOAL, OBJECTIVE(S) & ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />Overall Goal: <br />Youthworks, in collaboration with the Juvenile Court will provide intensive casework for "deep-end, unruly <br />youth" and their families, who with the staff, collaboratively develop a diversion plan focused on keeping the <br />youth at home, in the community and out of the juvenile justice and child weffare systems. <br /> <br />O~ectives: <br /> 1. In 2002-03 Youthworks will provide intensive casework, based on a collaboratively developed plan, for 60 <br /> deep-end unruly youth who are at risk of being removed from their home with eighty-five percent <br /> (85%) <br /> of <br /> the <br /> <br /> youth remaining in the custody of their parents. <br /> <br /> 2. In 2002-03 Youthworks will provide intensive casework, based on a eoilaboratively developed plan, for 60 <br /> deep-end unruly youth who are at risk of being removed from their home with sixty-five percent (65%) having no <br /> further involvement in the juvenile justice system. <br /> <br /> 3. 3. In 2002-03 Youthworks will provide intensive casework, based on a collaboratively developed plan, for <br /> 60 deep-end unruly youth who are at risk of being removed from their home with sixty percent (60%) of the youth <br /> having no placement interventions (attendant care, psychiatric placement, emergency foster or group placement). <br /> <br />Measurement(s) to be used to determine accomplishment of Objectives: <br />Youthworks has an extensive, computerized management information system that can provide all of the demographic, <br />service, and outcome data needed to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. Youthworks has a judicial order from the East <br />Central Judicial Court allowing for the exchange of information between the court and Youthworks. Data which will be <br />available for analysis include the demographics of youth served, the types of service, amounts of services provided and both <br />general & specific outcomes <br />Measurable accomplishments will include: <br /> number and types of citations at intake and citations following intake <br /> number, types & length of placement interventions approved by parents <br /> number, type & length of placements authorized by the court <br /> number of families and youth receiving, and the hours of, assessment services <br /> number of families and youth receiving, and hours of, supporting services <br /> number youth & families receiving mediation, and the hours of mediation provided <br /> number of youth receiving, and the hours of, peer support, group &/or individual counseling <br /> number of youth enrolled in Turnabout and the length of enrollment <br /> number of families receiving, and the hours of, crisis intervention & family counseling <br /> number of youth and parents participating in KEYS and/or anger management training <br /> With an extensive database in place, questions essential to the evaluation of this program can be answered. These include: <br /> "What services are most effective in diversion?", "Which interventions are used and how frequently are they used?", "How <br /> long must services be provided?", "What level of service seems appropriate?", "What will diversion cost?", "How effective <br /> is the program in preventing fiarther citations?" How effective is the program at preventing longer term out-of-home <br /> placement and the termination of parental custody? <br /> <br /> <br />
