She said after the interview she returned to the Social Services
Department by coming into the lot through the west gate which would
be on 11th Street. Because she came in the west gate, she was
driving east toward the building. She was going to park in one of
the slots facing in an easterly direction on the west side of the
building but she decided that beings she was driving a small car
and larger cars had easier driving to get in and out of those
spaces, she chose to go north, make a U-turn and come back south
toward the building and park in one of the spaces because they are
easier to get in and out of with a small car. She said when she was
very close to the building, the car began to rev. She said she was
going so slow at that time after making the U-turn to come back
toward the building, she didn't have her foot on the gas or the
brakes. It is her recollection that the motor started to rev all by
itself and she climbed up over the curb through and over some
decorative rocks and then she struck the decorative wall that sits
away from the building itself and is used to hide and protect air
conditioning cooling units for the building. It is made out of
brick and mortar and as soon as she struck it, the car came to a
complete stop immediately.

She said that once she reported it to the police and gave the
police the necessary information and was interviewed by OFFICER
SHERRI ARNOLD, she went to the walk-in clinic on South University
Drive operated by Meritcare. She said she was treated at that
location by a physician's assistant identified as MS. BECKER. She
said that yesterday she had a stiff neck and it was still somewhat
stiff today but it seemed a lot better because she had put ice on
it all evening. She said on her right knee she has a small
abrasion, on her left knee she has a rather large bruise. She said
from her right shoulder to her elbow, she has an achy sort of
feeling and in her hand she has a stinging sort of sensation, that
would be in her right hand. Other than that, she was just examined
and released to go to her residence. She was also apparently given
some sort of pain medication.

I asked her twice during the interview if she had her foot on the
accelerator or the br~ke and both times she responded that it's her
recollection that she didn't have her foot on either the
accelerator or the brake. She said once she made the U-turn and
headed back toward the building driving south, the motor seemed to
rev by itself and before she could react, she was so close to the
building, it struck the decorative wall.

I asked her about the car. She said she had driven it many times
and never had any problems with it. In fact, she didn't have any
problems with it when she drove over to the client's residence in
Fargo on 05/02/02.

I advised her that I would be doing a report and sending it to the
Sheriff and Cass County Auditor MICHAEL MONTPLAISIR. She had
